Stillness and Silence

Our world is often spinning around so fast with activities, noise, or thoughts, that the mention of trying to find stillness and silence can seen scarry and difficult.  Our lives are often consumed with busyness and  the thought of being still and quiet is  in conflict with the activities, the noise, the thoughts, and our daily need to be doing and accomplishing something.

On my Facebook page I get daily coach tips from Martha Beck.  I love it when I notice a theme being repeated in various ways so that I start to really pay attention as each one is a little seed that settles in a place where a bouquet will eventually appear.

Lately some of Martha Beck's tips have been talking about silence and stillness and how, " the voice of inspiration is a gentle one," and  "there are things that can only happen through you when you are still", and "silence is often the most important work you can do".

I will continue collecting my seeds.  They are the things that do only come in the pause of silence and stillness and I will continue to listen.

Thank you, Martha Beck.
