Kamal -The Quiet Earth- The Quiet Earth

The Quiet Earth

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson
The Quiet Earth
A very peaceful sound Meditation

Can you imagine your world without stress even if it is just for a few minutes ...

For a few minutes, will you allow these gentle calming images to relax your mind and body ...

Begin to let go and focus on your soft, gentle, full breath ...  each inhale ... each exhale ...

Do you notice a bit of space arriving between the in breath and the out breath ...

Allow each breath to bring you to this moment, a place to just breathe and let go ...

As you let go, give yourself permission to allow these beautiful healing sounds to nurture your body ... allow these healing sounds to fill your soul and open your heart ...

Simply give yourself permission to let go and relax your whole body and mind ...

Namaste.

I hope you enjoyed the music video and the short meditation I added to help you relax.

Beware - Comfort Zone

The Gifts are Endless

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

I love my Yoga mat!

Many of the great benefits and opportunities of yoga are found through letting the yoga mat take us to different places.

Whether it is to simply focus and breathe, create stillness, be strong like a mountain, or fold to release, we go places and do things that are just for us to feel, enjoy, experience, and each time is unique.

Every time I reach for my yoga mat I think about what will happen in my practice that day. What do I think my body needs or  should I just let the mat tell me ... it always wins!

When I finally began yoga  in my very late forties, I soon learned more about how my body didn't work. I remember being tired and hoping/asking if the guided relaxations could be the whole class. Later on I started trying to find ways to relax myself at home and those days when I couldn't stand, sit or walk, I got out the couch cushions and blankets to build myself a nest.  I didn't know it at the time but I was doing some restorative yoga poses.

I will always be an ongoing beginner, I go slowly and am open and happy with whatever comes through that day.

The following is a mini meditation about a Yoga Mat!  It is timed for our return to fall activities after a summer break.  I hope you connect to its sense of union which the word yoga comes from.  Enjoy!

Forgotten – One Yoga Mat

When the warm days of summer take us outside to other activities or on vacation, we sometimes take a break from our yoga mat.  Instead of travelling to our yoga class or the gym, they stay rolled up leaning against the wall, in the closet, or buried somewhere in our vehicle.  They’re put out of our minds for a few months.

The pleasing colors of green, pink, blue, purple, yellow, and red that were our close companions during the rest of the year are left unused, forgotten.

When we do get a glimpse of the lonely mat, we think, maybe later, or another day.  It’s too hot, or I’m busy right now.  The mat doesn't complain, it knows you are taking a break and you will return eager to begin again.

Where else can you immediately find a place to honor your body, a place to build and feel strength, awareness, and balance.

It is a place for your body to breathe and soften, a place for your mind to find stillness and peace, and a place for your heart to find courage and compassion.

This small mat gives us permission to open up to possibilities and choices.

It gives us a place where we invest in ourselves and create an awareness that we can take out into the world.

It is a place where the gifts are endless and lifelong.

When you’re ready – Welcome Back!

Jimmy Cliff - I Can See Clearly Now With Lyrics

I Can See Clearly Now!

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

I Can See Clearly Now!

I'm just about to start reading Dr.Wayne Dyer's book I Can See Clearly Now, and I found this song/video with the same title so I thought I'd share it.

When I was at the Hay House, I Can Do It event in San Jose earlier this year, Dr. Dyer mentioned how these words came to him as he was writing the book. I found the song does help to think about the different times in our lives and how we managed them.

It's interesting how our lives can go in so many different directions depending on the choices we make and the people in our lives at different times.  We have those who help us, challenge us and even those who put us down or disapprove.   Then there is differences because of how we think at different ages, how we learn, communicate, interact with others, our awareness and the list goes on.  As we look back we can see how this lead to that, or we wish we hadn't done that and did the other.

What things stand out for you?

We all have our own stories and we're each on our own special journey. What events, people and lessons can you think of that link things together for you?

How has the events in your life unfolded to make the chapters of your I Can See Clearly Now book?

Enjoy, and welcome your bright sunny days ...

I just remembered I started writing a post about this same thing awhile ago.  I'll have to find it and link it back to this post.

Stressed? Feel better again

Does Stressed feel like your new Normal?

Dona Anderson

This shorrelaxation is from my book and is also titled,

Simply, One Breath At a Time

Get comfortable and begin this relaxation with slow, gentle words and thoughts, soft movements and breath.
Enjoy!

Simply, One Breath At a Time

#Begin to relax your whole body as much as possible, let your body feel a sense of being balanced, a sense that it can move freely… Notice your breathing, let each breath feel smooth, easy, free flowing.  Feel your breath softening and becoming balanced with each inhale and each exhale…

Feel your head being supported by your spine so you can let your neck and shoulders soften and relax… slowly tilt your head a bit to the right side, feel your neck on the left side slowly lengthen… bring your head back to center… then slowly let your head tilt a little to the left side, feel the right side of your neck slowly lengthening…

Bring your head up and back to center… now, slowly lower your chin down towards your chest, feel a soft lengthening in the back of the neck… slowly come back up…

Return your awareness to your breath… feel your breath bringing you here, to the most important time in your life.  The past is gone, tomorrow is another day, let this day, this now be a present for you…

Simply take one inhale and watch as it releases into an exhale, notice that at the end of the exhale, another inhale begins… Simply, one breath at a time is all you need.  Feel your whole body continue to soften… as each breath breathes you one breath at a time, let each breath bring you to a place of stillness…"

"This present of presence is a gift for you…"

Dustin Hoffman on TOOTSIE and his character Dorothy Michaels

Both Dustin Hoffman and Sesame Street in this blog post

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

Did You Watch this Sesame Street Show?

Many, many years ago I watched a Sesame Street show and one of the puppet characters was lost and looking for his mother.  He told everyone that she was the most beautiful women in the world.  They searched for days and he had all kinds of helpers out looking for the most beautiful women in the world.  Then at last he found his Mom!  She had gone unnoticed to everyone else as the most beautiful women but to her son she was all that and more!

When we like or love someone and feel their inner beauty we don’t notice that to the rest of the world they may not be seen as beautiful, the right size, hair color, weight, able bodied, or even interesting.

Watch this video and see what comes up for you ...

I don't want to be the critic or the one missing out!

I'd love to hear from you in the comments and please share this with your friends below.

Let’s really think and talk about it, and maybe change how we feel and what we watch, read, buy, believe and say!

What did you think about this video?

What does beauty mean to you?
What emotions do you attach to the word, are they true!
