Quite a few people have asked me ...

"What are you going to do now that your new book  Moving Forward from the Heart is finished?"

or this one,

"Are you going to write another book?"

NO, not another book.

And to the first question -  get caught up on the many things I've neglected and conveniently forgotten about.

But mainly, Moving Forward from the Heart is published but for me is just beginning in another way.

I asked myself - so are you going to make another CD  or a set of wellness cards.

No, not that I'm aware of now.

Will you use it to make photo messages - Yes, I'm sure I will.

So what is this Beginning you just mentioned.

Well you know the saying, You teach what you need to learn.

Yes

Well I need to do the work in this book.

Explain.

There is lots for me personally to learn and explore.
There's lots of questions I need to answer for this time of my life,
and
there's lots of  beautiful meditations and messages I want to share.

I am still using Simply, One Breath At a Time and though I know this book from cover to cover I'm still amazed at all there is to use and share, love it.

There's so much variety. I can use a whole guided relaxation/meditation or take paragraphs, one or two lines or whatever I want from one or several pages depending on time and what I want to say.

Each time - I am very grateful  for all there is to choose from in this book.

Now it's time for Moving Forward from the Heart to open her pages and  transform us.

New learning and sharing.

New messages, thoughts, journeys and lots of self discovery.

New Gifts for Moving forward.

I'm very excited!!!!!!!!!!!

Information Changes - Another go at it!

Dona Anderson

Dona Anderson
Part of my yearly decluttering  is to go through my books to find ones I won't read again or use as a resource.  Then there are those others that looked nice on the coffee table or on the book or recipe shelf.

This year I thought more about how I didn't want to keep books that kept me in the past whether it was recipes, information, health, lifestyle, finance, designs, decorating etc. I wanted to have and make room for books that support me now and into the future.

Our world is constantly changing and we are changing how we live,
how we think, work, and how
we spend our at home and leisure time.

New technology keeps changing how we read, find information, listen to music, talk to each other, watch a movie and many of us don't even have a current family photo album around any more to sit with or show our friends.

Decluttering the mind also seems to be another huge task to take on.  Who really wants to stay stuck with old patterns, actions, or old thoughts and beliefs that don't serve our lives and our world?

Each generation changes as patterns, thoughts,

beliefs, technology, science, and information changes.

Let's keep moving forward and make a world that is full of compassion and then everything else will fall into place. Let's support the whole earth and our future.
Dona Anderson

There's lots of room when we open up space!

Each small change can make a difference!

Thanks for Your HELP!

** I have to tell you, after I got rid of old books I went to the Edmonton, Hay House I Can Do It Conference in May and brought home some new ones that helped fill this basket.

New thoughts, ideas and authors!

Your time is valuable,

Decorating Tips

The Dog Did It

Dona Anderson

What else goes on in my world?

Meet Lucy, our Scottish Terrier puppy 1 1/2 years old.

She's wonderful and a true friend.  She cuddles, loves walks, isn't a pig, twirls in circles, makes funny noises, loves to play, and good at decorating (?)

She also likes being a hunter gatherer in the garden. She's a lover of snap peas, green beans and how can you resist the apples.

The first apples to fall are hard and green so they make good toys to play with and then later on - well you also get to dig holes to bury the apples you might need later.

I had to take this photo and I think she did really well with the placement of the 3 toys and
then apple all by itself.

Do you agree?

For me I always refer to my dogs as puppies.  Our other girl Chloe almost 13 years is also our puppy.  I guess that started for me when dogs changed to being people with fur.  Once when someone called another dog we had a senior I replied " no she's a puppy"

OK, I've repeatedly told them that they have to live forever.

What else is in your world?

Thanks for your visit and there's lots of other posts to check out and share!

I've been playing with this when I have time.

There's a bit more I want to do and always some tweaking but I thought I'd share with you what I have so far!

No wonder my old brain gets tired ...

Here's the link to

THIS wasn't Planned

I have to add in here that the website cover photo and the cover for Moving Forward from the Heart have the same colors.

I started work on the website in the spring and then had the book cover designed for me in June,  and until recently I didn't notice the similarities.

Hope this is a good sign for both the book and the website!

You'll see what I mean when you have a look at both on the home page!

Blog Name has Changed!

Invest in Yourself

Dona Anderson

Success is liking Yourself
liking what you Do
and liking how you do it!`
~ Maya Angelou~

Dona Anderson

Change happens everywhere and
Now it's happening here!

Roots to Breath has been retired as my Blog's name and Dona Anderson has taken over, so I won't need to change again in the future.

Sorry for any inconvenience when you look at old posts especially with links to others blog posts. I will work on updating them as I'm able and all posts are still here so don't fret.  You can look for them in the Blog archive by date or try the labels. Email followers, if you still have the email, the post should be the day of or the day before the email.

Because my Blog is evolving and a new book will soon be published, I wanted to make it easier to find me and build my audience.  As I learn more and figure out how to make changes I'm slowly updating things and the Blogs name was a major one and will be more work than I imagined.

I forgot about all the links in posts and then all the paper material that needs to be changed. And then there's the links I've sent out to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.  When you're in the spirit of change and finally just go for it, somehow all that stuff is forgotten.

I will still refer to Roots to Breath in various places as it connects me to a place for grounding, evolving and breathing, a place for moving through the Chakras.  I've been using it for some of the One Rose Wellness Card posts and I like it as a title for the images on the right side.

I really appreciate all your support and hope you stay connected!

Isn't that a cutie in the picture!

Meaning of Words - Sign

So many variations of one word!

Subscribe to Roots to Breath

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

Sign

What's the first thing you think of?

The word sign is one of those words that has many different uses.

We have a road sign, a Sign Language, a Horoscope sign.

We use it as an identifier like a signature, an indicator like a symptom, or a signal like a wave.

A sign can give us written, picture or symbol information & instructions, tell us about hazards, shopping, businesses, locations etc, or it can be visual like noticing a change in weather.

I thought I'd share this sign that tells us to expect deer on the roads. We have lots of deer around and usually when you see one, there's a couple more coming.

Do you have any unusual signs or ones unique to where you live that you can tell us about in the comments?     Or maybe you saw one somewhere else.

We can share in the Comments, Signs from around the world!

It can be a SIGN of our Connecting!

Best Holiday Gift

What’s on Your List!

Maybe it's time to Retreat You

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

Dona Anderson
This is a busy time of year with shoppers checking out who is on their list and wondering what to buy!

Then comes questions about what you might like.  Lots of times the answer is nothing much or you may have big house items that are needed, or sometimes a vacation will be your gift this year.

We're still downsizing from the clutter of the 8o's and 90's, so Christmas presents are not a big part of our celebrations anymore.  Getting rid of old or not suitable things has been great and after some furniture changes I'm still working on reducing ornaments, stuffed toys, old gifts, books, antiques and collectables.

Opening up space is wonderful and it also gives you a chance to breathe, and have the opportunity to bring in new things and new activities.

When I started Yoga, then Reflexology and Reiki, I needed lots of things to get set up and then adding on the fun extras took me to lots of bookstores, gift shops, rock shops, and wellness stores.

Dona Anderson
When we started drumming, we visited music stores and even a drum maker.  I hadn’t been in a music store for 25 years, and had never visited someone who actually handmade drums, so the first drum soon had a few friends.   I also bought one guitar and then another.  An open space now displays beautiful instruments that will bring joy and lots of learning for years to come.

New activities create a real opportunity not only to enjoy and learn the activity but to go to different places, see what other people do and offer, be curious and excited, meet lots of like minded people, and it gives us something new to talk about.

If you have nothing much on your list, maybe this year you can find a new activity that is interesting to you and then set it up.  This year maybe you can give gifts to yourself to renew or start a new activity that may be about learning, exercising, meeting more people, improving your health, supporting your community, or the gift of time to pamper and take care of yourself.

Maybe simple things like new shoes for walking, yoga pants, a song book, a how to book, a relaxation CD, registering for a course, a journal for writing, or a new computer program can be on your list.  You can even share with a friend ... give a friend an invitation to lunch out or make a few movie dates for you both to enjoy!

When talking about my book Simply, One Breath At a Time, I often use the phrase, Gifts that keep on giving.  Finding those simple, everyday gifts that keep on giving gives us more opportunities to feel, think and be better, and to then pass these positive energies on to others.

When we really support ourselves and put ourselves on the list things change.  We bring into our day things that matter, and we live each day with more gratitude and purpose.

Retreat You! You Matter!

I hope you find that special gift to bring you gifts for a lifetime!

Hugs, and I wish you an amazing year ahead!

Jimmy Cliff - I Can See Clearly Now With Lyrics

I Can See Clearly Now!

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

I Can See Clearly Now!

I'm just about to start reading Dr.Wayne Dyer's book I Can See Clearly Now, and I found this song/video with the same title so I thought I'd share it.

When I was at the Hay House, I Can Do It event in San Jose earlier this year, Dr. Dyer mentioned how these words came to him as he was writing the book. I found the song does help to think about the different times in our lives and how we managed them.

It's interesting how our lives can go in so many different directions depending on the choices we make and the people in our lives at different times.  We have those who help us, challenge us and even those who put us down or disapprove.   Then there is differences because of how we think at different ages, how we learn, communicate, interact with others, our awareness and the list goes on.  As we look back we can see how this lead to that, or we wish we hadn't done that and did the other.

What things stand out for you?

We all have our own stories and we're each on our own special journey. What events, people and lessons can you think of that link things together for you?

How has the events in your life unfolded to make the chapters of your I Can See Clearly Now book?

Enjoy, and welcome your bright sunny days ...

I just remembered I started writing a post about this same thing awhile ago.  I'll have to find it and link it back to this post.

Dustin Hoffman on TOOTSIE and his character Dorothy Michaels

Both Dustin Hoffman and Sesame Street in this blog post

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

Did You Watch this Sesame Street Show?

Many, many years ago I watched a Sesame Street show and one of the puppet characters was lost and looking for his mother.  He told everyone that she was the most beautiful women in the world.  They searched for days and he had all kinds of helpers out looking for the most beautiful women in the world.  Then at last he found his Mom!  She had gone unnoticed to everyone else as the most beautiful women but to her son she was all that and more!

When we like or love someone and feel their inner beauty we don’t notice that to the rest of the world they may not be seen as beautiful, the right size, hair color, weight, able bodied, or even interesting.

Watch this video and see what comes up for you ...

I don't want to be the critic or the one missing out!

I'd love to hear from you in the comments and please share this with your friends below.

Let’s really think and talk about it, and maybe change how we feel and what we watch, read, buy, believe and say!

What did you think about this video?

What does beauty mean to you?
What emotions do you attach to the word, are they true!
