Sending out Hugs & more

Daily Ingredients to say to yourself.

Self Care time

It's time for another True Treasures post.

This one is a few lines from the Meditation titled Today # 21 on page 61 in my book Moving Forward from the Heart.

Softly say to yourself

Today

"There will be peace in my thoughts,

There will be peace in my words,

There will be peace in my actions,

There will be peace in my heart,

There will be peace in my world."

Quietly let those words absorb into your next few breaths.

Are You feeling like a hug is waiting?

Go ahead and give yourself a big HUG then take a few minutes to just breathe, rest, smile and when ready restart your day.

PS. When I give myself a Hug, I like to massage wherever I can reach on my shoulders, arms, neck, back, face - just go for it!

I hope you're having a great day and these words helped make it even better.

Take some (guilt free) time to absorb feelings of space, lightness, comfort, warmth and Gratitude for all that You do everyday.

Thanks for your visit today.

Here's a beautiful video about Spring

Spring always gets us thinking more about the earth as it's time for renewal, growth, gardens and planting.

It gives us Sun, rain and may even surprise us with a soft sprinkling of snow. As it gets lighter in the mornings now I get to wake up to birdsongs as they take turns for an hour or so. Nature is a beautiful Gift.

Live Your Dreams

We all have Dreams

Are yours about your family, job, travel plans, perfect partner or ...

Dona Anderson

Welcome and thanks for your visit.

I have another True Treasures post for You today.

Are your dreams about family, job, health, money, travel plans, perfect partner ... the list can be quite long.

Our dreams change as we live life, age, find new things, make choices of what we like or don't.

There is so much choice now in all areas from our job, where we live, the food we eat and more doesn't often make it easier.

I remember when my older sister was finishing high school she really only had the choice of 3, being a secretary, nurse or teacher.

A while back I opened my book Moving Forward from the Heart, and found the meditation Live our dreams #55 on page 128.

As I read it over I lingered on the ending as I seem to do on most of the relaxations in this book as it offered a place to go for help.

I thought I'd share a few lines or excerpts of it with you  for another True Treasures post..

From the beginning

"What in this day to dream seems unattainable?

What paths in your life are hidden from view?

What friendly fears try to hold you back?"

From the ending

"Unpack your dreams, spread them out and take a look. Let them come to life and be real so you can plan them into existence, plan for them to be part of your day, your life.

Each time you stretch out a little, you bring back more and go to a new place of thinking and responding. Each time you see how things change slightly, it becomes not so scary anymore. And, when you see what you need to learn more about, you know more about, how to move forward."

"Let these dreams be ones that come with wellness, ease,

happiness and a sense of renewal ...

Let these dreams be the ones of your future..."

Relax and feel yourself being transported to a place of peace

The Sound of Silence

The Sound of Silence | Simon & Garfunkel (Harp Cover)

Dona Anderson

Thank You beautiful young lady.

When I first heard this version of the song I completely softened and after the last couple of years I guess it was needed.

It was Simple, Beautiful and quickly moved deep into my heart.

I felt like I had angels from above beside me, and reminded me of the angels I had and have here on earth that I'm very thankful for.

PS. I went searching in my book Moving Forward from the Heart to find a few words to finish off this post. I didn't have to go far to find this ending to the meditation, Lullaby of Peace.

Listen to these beautiful notes softly
playing your lullaby, your smooth
soft sweet notes of peace ...

Going back in time for this Story.

Before I started Yoga I led a life full of routines - daily, weekly monthly and yearly.

I took the bus to work and home and even though the ride home stopped at a grocery store, I never got off to pick up something.

I had to get home - to see if everything was OK, the kids, the dogs, the house and then get supper and the next days lunch started.

Life seemed rushed, no spontaneity.

While our housework day changed as many times as there are days in the week, if something disrupted doing the chores on that certain day - you still had to do them and most days had something so that meant double up duties.

Only having about 4 hours or so when you got home went by very fast before bedtime and the start to the next day.  The weekends as you know were always busy too.

I used to go for lots of walks but I never really saw anything, missed little changes and even some big ones.

My husband helped me get better at that but taking time to notice wasn't something I knew much about, learned or was taught when I grew up.

Help is coming ...

In this post I want to share with you the poem Lost and Found which I wrote after I finished writing Simply, One Breath At a Time.

The book helped me grow and understand more about life, it guided me to make changes, be comfortable and the poem let me put it all together.

Through the practice of Yoga and my Writing about Breath, Body, Awareness, Connection, Gratitude and more I continued to learn about my needs, to feel and notice those parts of my life and health that were left behind, left unnoticed.

Luckily those valuable gifts of learning and growth continue throughout our life and in our later years we have the time to listen and respond.

Then as my second book came along it was time to share the poem in Moving forward from the Heart.

An introduction and the poem are on pages 11 & 12.

Now it's time to share the poem with You.

Go slowly and see what presents itself to you today and then ...

Pick one to sit with and see what you find.

  Lost and Found

"Lost myself –
found out what’s important and brings me joy

Lost track of time –
found the now in the present moment

Lost imagination –
found treasures, gifts, paradise, nature

         Lost comfort –
found softness from letting go, and smiling

Lost paying attention –
found myself choosing to be aware

Lost appreciation –
found feelings of fullness from gratitude

Lost awareness –
found time to see, hear, feel and connect

Lost my breath –
found a nourishing breath flowing within me

Lost a quiet mind –
found that I can slow down thoughts and rest

Lost peace –
found a safe place for me to open up my heart"

Did you relate to something?

PSI still love routines to keep me on track but now I can relax with them, appreciate them instead of feeling pressure and dictated to.

Now they allow me to keep time and space for the good habits I want and need to follow my goals and wellness plans.

Have a wonderful Day.

73 Ways to Support You going Forward

It's Birthday Time

Celebration Time ðŸ’š

Wow, five years ago tomorrow I was picking up the boxes of Moving Forward from the Heart and had to open one quickly to see it for real.

And, then I got to go through the pages on the drive home. (Nope, I wasn't driving)

It seems that it has always been with me - at least longer than 5 years since and the time I worked on it.

Sometimes you have to write the 1st book to get to the second so I guess that's what I did.

It's fun to have previous buyers of Simply, One Breath At a t time stop to tell me how they enjoy my work and one lady last fall came by to tell me she had bought Simply,10 years ago and still uses it all the time.

Moving Forward from the Heart is also helping others and lots of comments from shoppers and readers why are listed below and on the Wellwishers page.

- help a new empty nester
- help me heal my heart
- learn more about myself
- for relaxation
- figure out this time of my life
- lovely words and charming prose
- want all your stuff
- it leaves time and space to dream
- emphasis on breath

Here's one you'll see ...

"In just a few words, it's a lovely book. It's obvious that a lot of care and thought went into your presentation. The are many books out there on meditation but I would say "Moving Forward..." is one of the best, so readable, so accessible, so uplifting".

Our World and lives are full of stuff, being busy, emotions, fake and troubling news, storms, tragedies and more.

Stress seems to be a normal part of our conversations.

It's getting harder and harder to make ends meet, enjoy life and have some time to get to know who we are or even have a moment to be still and think about it.

These 73 meditations help us to relax, breathe, visit nature and figure some of that out along the way.

The first meditation is titled, So Much More to See.

The last is, You Became the Beauty.

Between the two are 71 other titles ...

Some of the others you'll meet are,

A post I did July 14, 2015 a few months before I got my hands on a real copy started with ...

It's always a bit scary to let your work out for everyone to see.  I've been working on this baby for over 4 years and it's time to let it go so I can find out what is next for me.

The following is in the book and talks about

What Moving Forward from the Heart means to me!

When I wrote Simply, One Breath At a Time I had the title right away, and then with  this book I only had a few ideas for the title until Moving Forward from the Heart came to me at the end, long after all the writing was done.

It was in one of those still, quiet times and it made perfect sense.

Since completing this book, I can see now that I was unknowingly writing from my Heart and Soul, and my Heart wanted to know more about compassion, hope, the ability to change, and forgiveness.

My Heart wanted to know more about how to heal, open, love and most of all how to move on and forward.

I’m always sharing things on my Blog as I learn from life and time, and now I am also learning from all the meditations in this book.

They nudge me to let go of what I need to and remind me to live my life now, celebrate all that I am, have and can be.  They remind me to celebrate others and our beautiful earth.

They give me strength and courage, and ask me to think, to see, explore and to share.

Does this sound like a book for You'd like ...

Let's make it easier.

14 Tips coming Up

You Want to ...
* Learn more about Self-Care and Meditation

* Rediscover your Breath

* Relax, Reduce Stress, Increase Mindfulness

* Bring  more Awareness to your Body, Mind & Soul

* Connect more to Compassion & Gratitude

Start where you are
Dona's Photo message

There are many styles of guided relaxation and meditation.

And there's lots of different wellness programs, books, CD's, podcasts and information readily available.

Would you want easy words or words you don't know and have to look up.

Would you like sound meditations, visualizations, all silence, chakra learning or do you just want an easy way to start that feels good.

There's no right or wrong, it's a practice that can be different every day and gets better with time - like learning to play the piano.

For me - I usually can't just sit down and let everything in my life go in a few minutes & Meditate. I like to have a variety of guided scripts to use first to help me relax.

That way I don't go off in my head somewhere else and I can go slow, repeat or think about things along the way if I want.

Later at the end I really enjoy those times of peace and silence.

The tips below are general and some may fit with your practice and others not.

If you're just getting started or have questions, I hope these tips helped you.

Here's your - 14 Tips

1* Have no expectations other than to simply Enjoy.

2 * Self hugs, shoulder rubs, foot rubs and smiles are always important.

3 * Alter, change or lessen what you need to each day and sometimes you can even just imagine instead of doing.

4 * Practice in a comfortable and safe place (if you fall asleep). You don't have to sit on the floor unless you want to.

Use a comfy chair, your bed, bath time, outside, a waiting room, park bench or enjoy a walk in nature. These can change like the seasons so be open to whatever you need.

5 * If reading from a guided script, you can easily skip parts or change the words to say things in your own way or bring in special messages you like.

6 * If you have a paper book you could write in it what you'd like to say or add. See if there are blank pages or places that you can write notes on such as favorite quotes or messages.

Get ideas and maybe write your own scripts to suit you or your group.

7 * When time is limited shorten a longer script by leaving out parts/lines or only saying the key parts in each paragraph ... make them your own!

8 * Use battery candles, then no worries and always safe if you go to sleep.

9 * Have a timer if needed. It helps so you aren't worried about time.

10 * If you want music, soft unfamiliar instrumental music usually works best. You can even add in singing bowls, drums, rain sticks and whatever, it's up to you.

Or, perhaps some days you prefer a relaxing piece of music that is the meditation for you to sit with for a few minutes.

11 * Have a blanket close by and use cushions and bolsters as needed to be comfortable depending on your seating arrangements.

12 * If sharing with others, check whether a scent free space is needed and determine seating arrangements. (often in a group someone may go to sleep - if so are they safe).

13 * Dim lighting may be more comfortable.

14 * If reading to yourself or others use a slow, gentle voice and leave time when needing to focus on thoughts, breath work, or moving within the body.

ðŸ’œThings are sometimes more fun when shared and so are guided meditations.

Possibilities are endless ...

You'll quickly feel at home and become a Pro!

Namaste.
