It feels like now is the time to share this.

 Find out why.

Leo Buscaglia quote

I saw this quote and knew it was about You.

It Feels that now is the time
to share it.

Why because I've felt its truth and spoke about this many times.

Our lives are always affected by those around us, who interact with us and who offer their Gifts to us in many ways.

It can be a smile given by a stranger, a few extra minutes to listen, a hand to hold or help.

Perhaps it's a phone call to see if you're OK, a knock at the door, a card in the mail.

A moment shared for a Smile or a Laugh that are gifts to both the giver and the receiver.

It can be a book to borrow, a cup of tea, a few homemade cookies, soup or whatever it is - the lists goes on and on.

Take a look and see yourself
as both the receiver and the giver.

"The majority of us lead quiet, unheralded lives as we pass through this world.

There will most likely be no ticker-tape parades for us, no monuments created in our honor.

But that does not lessen our possible impact, for there are scores of people waiting for someone just like us to come along; people who will appreciate our compassion, our unique talents.

Someone who will live a happier life merely because we took the time to share what we had to give.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring...”
Leo Buscaglia

Thank You for all that you do.

PS. It's also wonderful that often it's the smallest gifts that can mean the most and let others know they are seen, welcomed, needed and cared about.

Here's an earlier post that is one of my top 3 and
relates to this beautifully.

What are the Things You need Most?

another year almost gone

but it will never be forgotten.
Dona Anderson

Last week I said I'd pass on a few reminders for some of life's pleasures and for that we're going to the guided Relaxation titled  I Give Thanks  in my  book  Simply, One Breath At a Time

Dona's photo message

I shared some of this previously in a post dated May 10, 2016 that still continues to travel the world.

These last couple of years have been especially difficult and 2020 was full of much heartbreak and loss.

I hope these simple everyday reminders will help us to keep moving forward.

We sometimes forget the simple things in life, our surroundings, our necessities, earths beauty, the human touch ... they are always there but can go unnoticed.

I invite you to join me in expressing gratitude for some of life's pleasure's ... at the end rest with a gentle breath and think about which ones hold a special meaning for you today and others you can add.

For the wonders of earth  ...                    I give thanks
For each drink of water ...                       I give thanks
For the warmth of the sun ...                    I give thanks
For the beauty of nature ...                       I give thanks
For each gift of a breath ...                      I give thanks
For the kindness in a smile ...                  I give thanks
For the chance to laugh ...                       I give thanks
For the grace to dance ...                         I give thanks
For the notes in music ...                          I give thanks
For the love in my life ...                          I give thanks
For this present moment ...                      I give thanks
For all this and much more ...                  I give thanks

This list isn't asking for much.

It's just noticing some of the everyday things we all need.

And, each of us will have others to add like family, friends, pets & more?

And at times in our lives we do need to say
Thanks for many of these.
Perhaps that's the reason people around
the World keep connecting to it.

73 Ways to Support You going Forward

It's Birthday Time
5th Birthday

Celebration Time ðŸ’š

Wow, five years ago tomorrow I was picking up the boxes of Moving Forward from the Heart and had to open one quickly to see it for real.

And, then I got to go through the pages on the drive home. (Nope, I wasn't driving)

It seems that it has always been with me - at least longer than 5 years since and the time I worked on it.

Sometimes you have to write the 1st book to get to the second so I guess that's what I did.

It's fun to have previous buyers of Simply, One Breath At a t time stop to tell me how they enjoy my work and one lady last fall came by to tell me she had bought Simply,10 years ago and still uses it all the time.

Moving Forward from the Heart is also helping others and lots of comments from shoppers and readers why are listed below and on the Wellwishers page.

- help a new empty nester
- help me heal my heart
- learn more about myself
- for relaxation
- figure out this time of my life
- lovely words and charming prose
- want all your stuff
- it leaves time and space to dream
- emphasis on breath

Here's one you'll see ...

"In just a few words, it's a lovely book. It's obvious that a lot of care and thought went into your presentation. The are many books out there on meditation but I would say "Moving Forward..." is one of the best, so readable, so accessible, so uplifting".

Our World and lives are full of stuff, being busy, emotions, fake and troubling news, storms, tragedies and more.

Stress seems to be a normal part of our conversations.

It's getting harder and harder to make ends meet, enjoy life and have some time to get to know who we are or even have a moment to be still and think about it.

These 73 meditations help us to relax, breathe, visit nature and figure some of that out along the way.

The first meditation is titled, So Much More to See.

The last is, You Became the Beauty.

Between the two are 71 other titles ...

Some of the others you'll meet are,

A post I did July 14, 2015 a few months before I got my hands on a real copy started with ...

It's always a bit scary to let your work out for everyone to see.  I've been working on this baby for over 4 years and it's time to let it go so I can find out what is next for me.

The following is in the book and talks about

What Moving Forward from the Heart means to me!

When I wrote Simply, One Breath At a Time I had the title right away, and then with  this book I only had a few ideas for the title until Moving Forward from the Heart came to me at the end, long after all the writing was done.

It was in one of those still, quiet times and it made perfect sense.

Since completing this book, I can see now that I was unknowingly writing from my Heart and Soul, and my Heart wanted to know more about compassion, hope, the ability to change, and forgiveness.

My Heart wanted to know more about how to heal, open, love and most of all how to move on and forward.

I’m always sharing things on my Blog as I learn from life and time, and now I am also learning from all the meditations in this book.

They nudge me to let go of what I need to and remind me to live my life now, celebrate all that I am, have and can be.  They remind me to celebrate others and our beautiful earth.

They give me strength and courage, and ask me to think, to see, explore and to share.

Does this sound like a book for You'd like ...

Sweetness lies inside the spaces where you
free your body, mind and spirit
to fully celebrate
Life!

Many things make their way in my head when I'm laying awake during the night and unfortunately I don't remember most of them when it's finally time to wake up, or just get out of bed.

Anyway, I'd like to tell you a bit more about my book, Moving Forward from the Heart. and I've shared a bit of the beginning and the ending of later in this post.  You'll love it.

When I finished my first book, Simply, One Breath At a Time I still had more of those thoughts during the night, pages of notes saved and over the next year couldn't stop seeing things that said to me OH that would be good and this goes with that and...on and on.

Needless to say the letting go of one book didn't send me towards feelings of that's done - I can rest now - but rather it left me with still more on paper and in my head.

On the back cover of Simply, I started it off with Dona's first book of guided relaxations offers... I had to write something in a hurry to send off and we were traveling across country.

It was 2008, far away from home at the time and internet connections were not everywhere we were.

It didn't hit me until much later that I asked my self, why did I say that?

Somehow the universe had a plan

More was to come

I just didn't know it at the time.

In 2010 I started looking at my leftover notes and made a word file titled book 2011, just a time off in the future.

Well it was mid year 2015 when I finally said I'm done, but I still didn't have the title. A few earlier ideas didn't work and it took awhile before I got it.

73 new Meditations full of things for us to Explore, Experience and Embrace.

In this post I'm going to share a bit of the first Meditation and then the last, number 73.

In between there is so much to
Explore, Experience and Embrace.

Here's just a sampling of what you'll find in these 73 unique Meditations

- Explore the Chakras, Reiki principles, Life, who you are now & affirmations.

- Experience nature, being at the top of a tree, a visit to the ocean, visualizations, treasures, moving the breath and much more.

- Embrace your family, friends, hugs & most of all yourself.

Our Lives change, we change and through all the changes we may not realize who we are or want to be Now.

So this book offers you many unique and gentle meditations of Inspiration, Encouragement, Presence and Gratitude.

Here is a sampling from the beginning of  #1 - So Much More to See

"Whether your meditation practice is just getting started or it is an ongoing regular practice, it is there for you to simply breathe, nourish and restore.

Meditation is a special time for you to soften and release stress, move out old thoughts that clutter your mind, and to then use the space that remains for mindful presence.

Meditation connects you to your body for healing, rejuvenation and to create balance.  It opens the mind up to learning and understanding, to listening and dreaming, to reducing and eliminating."

There's more but now I want to include the ending of the last meditation #73, You Became the Beauty.

If you have some time, think about all the things that could be between #1 that would lead you to #73.

Here it is ...
© 2015 Dona Anderson

"You became the breath,
the breath became you

You became the difference,
the difference became you

You became the knowing,
the knowing became you

You became the wisdom,
the wisdom became you

You became the beauty,
the beauty became you

You became the very best,
 and
the very best
became YOU ..."

Thanks for your visit.

It's Never too late to Write MOM a Letter?

It's been so long

and

much to Say

Dona Anderson
Subscribe to Dona Anderson by Email

I never know what will inspire me to write each of these posts.

It can be a word, a picture, a smell and this one was hearing a man on TV saying he wrote a letter to his Mom some 30 years after her death ... it touched a place in my heart to do the same.

Love this picture of her

My Mom passed the month I turned 29.

She was 66.

The year before we had just returned from living in Europe for 5 years and a month later she was sick with Brain cancer.

It's hard when you don't live in the same place and my 2 older sisters and I all lived an 8-10 hour drive away, all worked full time with families.

We felt lost and sad that our Dad was all alone but he kept us up to date and we all made it to where they operated to hold her hand, give out kisses and support our Dad.  I don't know what she knew as she couldn't talk and didn't seem to know what was going on.

In her recovery she had to relearn to talk again and other basic needs. My sisters and I all took turns going home to visit, talk to her and support Dad until her passing about a year later.

I remember my Dad saying the first time you return home after the passing was awful.  You're all alone after years of being married. He said it was the worst feeling ever.

I had a tough time with it all and grieved badly for many years. I missed her and instead of focusing on celebrating her life like I should have, I held on to all the wrong things.

The month she passed, who am I going to talk to, my kids want their grandmother, you have more to tell me and on and on.

All those selfish things, the me and I's

Although I still miss her all these years later, I know that grief changes over time and I finally got comfortable with all the wonderful things I did receive.

And, all these years later I've had friends in their 60's & 70's who still had their Mom so I reminded them how lucky they were.

I guess it's never to late to Write your Mom a Letter.

Some of what I'd say

Mom never got
a chance to see ...

Mom never got a chance to see her little Grandchildren grow up into amazing & successful adults and become wonderful Parents to all her beautiful great Grandchildren.

She didn't know how my Sisters and I grew in life as unique individuals that keep passing on many of her talents and wonderful qualities in our own way.

Learning Life Skills
the old fashioned way...

Looking back I realize that even though our time was Short she gave us many life skills that prepared us for life at the time, and that I used later.

As a child I watched her for hours cutting out material for our clothes and having to have all the fabric placed right, all the patterns match up, and then sewing it all so the darts, seams, buttons and zippers were all straight and perfect.

I remember getting her to help me with a sewing project I had to do for school, a nightgown. I had to tell and remind her it can't be perfect as I was suppose to be the maker.  She agreed but still got 85% on it.

My Mom loved Christmas, bowling and playing bridge. I watched her cooking our meals every day, baking and making cakes and pies to go with our family Sunday Supper and other celebrations.

It was different times way back then.

We didn't have today's modern conveniences, so growing up we had to help with lunch & supper dishes everyday, with the meals, help with laundry, do our ironing (which in the earlier days was pretty much everything we wore and that required dampening first, no wash & go from the old wringer washer).  Later on the automatic ones helped a bit.

Oh, and yes We also had to have our house cleaning,  yard chores and homework done or we couldn't go out. Later on, I had lots of don't complain examples to share with my kids.

And from a young age I remember having to go out to get groceries with the list, and walk around town to pay the utility bills so I knew what things cost and the places where money went every month.

All this later becam
valuable gifts ...

In my Heart, MOM already knows and sees all of what the letter to her would say and since I've been crying every time I've been working on this over the last several months, the letter will have to be for another time.

The letter will have to be for another time...

Love you MOM.

Mom's name was Lydia

and
Happy Mother's Day
to all Moms here
and in Heaven!
