Another unbelievable video - Beautiful Nature Around The World

Summer of Music 2021

Week 8 of 9

Only One more week left.

this week

Beautiful Nature Around the World.

Dona Anderson

Great video

I've never had one of these videos before kind of speak to me but this one is different and made me feel a calling for support.

It's full of birds and the Eagle in flight left me with feelings of a lookout for protection, and then came more beautiful birds and animals for us to protect.

Not knowing what the words are, to me the Music made me feel it builds our energy to be strong yet calm and kind.

Looking at those beautiful birds and animals how could you not stand up for them.

Our earth is Beautiful, Amazing, Forgiving and Generous.

it gives us Gifts daily.

Is it time for us to do more to give back.

PS. I'll leave you with the link to this post

It shows up almost everyday in my stats as it travels the world with over 24,000 views.

It's about some of those simple everyday things we all need to give thanks for.

Take Care  & please come back next week. for week 9,
our last Summer of Music video for 2021.

Our Earth our World has been through so much this last year and the song video lets us know we are connected in so many ways and we can help each other, even if it's for a Song.

See you next week.

You want Me to do WHAT?

I don't want anymore Jobs!

What happened to the old me,
the quiet shy one.

Dona Anderson

Simply take one step then another and another.

Dona's photo message
Life sometimes gets a bit confusing and it's only later when we take the steps or fill in the pieces of the puzzle that it hopefully starts to make some sense.

I often say that I’m doing things I wouldn’t have ever imagined and two of them came to me as I was resting after yoga and were things at the time I really didn’t know anything about.
Reflexology and Reiki.

Reflexology came first.

I was just thinking about another purpose for my yoga room and the word Reflexology came to my mind.  I knew it had something to do with feet but nothing else.

So I began checking it out - what was it, what do you need and where I could get training.

Here comes the freaky part - when I looked up for where I could get a trainer for the type I was interested in ...

She worked in my little town and was the trainer for Western Canada and parts of the US as well.
Who could have imagined that?

How do I turn back now?

I booked a session for myself to learn more and,

before leaving I was signed up for my first training.

And, I used to hate
anyone touching my feet.

Reiki came to me several years
later in a similar way.

I wasn't thinking about needing to learn another healing practice or use for my yoga room but I was curious when it just popped into my mind loud and clear.
It just popped into my
mind loud and clear.

I didn't know anything about it so again I looked it up to learn more and find out about training.

The universe was plotting
against me because ...

A week or so later I saw an advertisement in the paper for a free level one workshop at the Woman's Resource center we had.

It was full so put my name on the waiting list.

But the same lady was teaching a different workshop the day before that I was able to go to.

I mentioned to her that I had called about the Reiki workshop but it was full.

Later in the day she came to me and said there was a cancellation for the Reiki workshop, and did I want to take that spot.

YES, OK Ok ...

That introduction led me wanting to learn more and finding a teacher near by for the rest of training.

I guess it is about putting what you want out there,
and seeing what comes back.

Both of these practices have been helpful in my own self healing, and I enjoyed introducing them to friends and family.

I’m sure there will be more reasons come up as to why I was introduced to and then agreed to learn and use these healing practices.

But for now ...

I think the important part was the one for listening ... without that, none of this would have happened!

Have you had any similar things in your life?

Baby Can I Hold You Tonight - Pavarotti and Tracy Chapman Live

It's wonderful how some Music never gets Old.

Heart & Love Month continues

I watched many PBS concerts years ago and loved how
Mr  Pavarotti enjoyed singing with every style and variety of great singers.

I even bought the taped concerts to play on weekends with the volume turned up and had fun singing and dancing around the room to many of the songs.

Have a listen and see if you can get your groove
on for a few minutes and Valentine's Day is just a few days away.

Tracy Chapman's voice is so smooth - love it.

We got to attend a Pavarotti concert in Edmonton Alberta many years ago.

What an exciting time.

Another thing on our list of wonderful  experiences to remember.

All this month we're thinking about our Hearts with some Love mixed in so I hope you'll come back for next week - someone said Rumi is visiting this month.  Is it next week?

Yoga for the Soul

What does that mean?

I don't know...

photo & message by Dona Anderson
I have been using these four words many times over the years I've been practicing and teaching Yoga.

Yoga for the Soul

I said I didn't know what it means above because I think it could be something different for each of us.

And, now there are so many different kinds of Yoga.

There's the old traditional types and new ones pop up all the time.  Whatever style it is there's always things to learn and try out, which helps to keep us coming back.

For me, I'm happy I grew up in times where nothing much changed for years so we were more relaxed and knew what tomorrow was about.  That well used response to what have you been doing, "same old" was kind of like a nice deep breath.

Yoga and I finally came together 20 years ago and I decided to put teacher training on my to do list to learn more after we moved here.

I love sharing what I can with others in my age group that like me need a gentle class because we usually hurt in various places.

Lucky for me, I have a small room in our home and lots of props and things to entertain us.

Through the years I have had the privilege to share and be part of some pretty special changes on the mat that also flowed off the mat into ones life as well.

In Yoga we talk about the purpose of our poses, and how they help us build connection, awareness, presence, gratitude, acceptance, focus and so much more.

What I got to witness over the years was "My Ladies" learning about their bodies, their breath, that they had toes, how the body feels with a smile rather than a frown, that we just do what we can that day and letting go, resting and  looking after ourselves is not doing nothing.

In the classes we grew in strength of
body, mind & soul.

We all grew in knowing our body and being grateful for the gains and understanding the days we needed to nourish and nurture.

We grew to recognize and pause for past hurts in our lives that maybe went unnoticed and needed to be resolved.

We grew in compassion for ourselves that enables us to pass it on to others.

We learned to appreciate our differences and not try to do something someone else could do better that we didn't want to do or couldn't. There were no prizes for perfect poses, or that long list of what I did that day before I got to class.

We learned to relax and look forward to resting on the floor and take that feeling out into our days that we can relax and just breathe almost anywhere.

We learned to listen to different kinds of music and hear unfamiliar words and not be uncomfortable with them.

We used drums, singing bowls, rang bells and used kids toys to make music, have fun, laugh and relax.

We learned that our differences do not hold us back, they help us learn.

We learned about paying attention to our whole body, being present, and pausing in between things.

We laughed and supported each other through changes in health, life and any other topic that needed 2 or 3 minutes or more that day.

OK, I guess I answered my Question.

Whatever draws You to the mat -
Whatever kind of Yoga you choose,
Thank You for making a difference in your life & World.

Have a wonderful day.

I'll be back here again next week.

Until then you can Visit my

WHAT's YOUR GARDEN ABOUT?

It's that time of year

Planting the Garden

Dona Anderson

What is a Garden

This is from a few years ago
It seems every year our garden produces one thing in abundance over the rest.

We never know until the fall what that will be - but wishing & hoping is part of the process.

The list over the years has included the cherry tomatoes, apples, spaghetti squash, peppers, snap peas, and basil to name a few.

And it seems that over 200 beautiful walla walla sweet onions is not too many for us to consume every summer.

We'd grow more but they
don't last for keeping.

It's my husbands garden.

The late winter is a busy time getting seeds started and then some move into the green house for more start ups. He tends to them until the right time for them to stand alone and be planted.

He keeps a watchful eye as they grow and we celebrate when it's time for some picking and not shopping at the store.

This month we've been enjoying a mixture of wonderful salad greens, radishes and other herbs.

At each harvest time, I get to see him travelling to neighbors and friends with bowls full of whatever he has, and it's always wonderful to watch the smiles and sparkle in the eyes of others as they gaze at and sample whatever is being shared.

It's just as wonderful to know the gardener passes these gifts on with just a much delight.

So it is true - the old Chinese Proverb “he who plants a garden plants happiness”

I’d like to think that perhaps a garden is not just a plot of land for growing vegetables, flowers, fruit or shrubs - to me there may be other kinds of gardens.

I wonder if anywhere we are nurtured and allowed to grow, develop and flourish is a garden setting.

Our home and neighborhood is a place where we plant roots and provide an environment for our family to be cared for and grow to be healthy and strong.

It’s a place where we want to be and feel nourished, supported, protected and safe.

Our many levels of schools and learning centers nurture and tends to us from childhood to adults so we can establish a strong foundation from which we can give our best and blossom through our accomplishments.

Our job, hobbies and passions can also be a place for us to establish ourselves, to grow, mature and display our potential and talents.

So here’s the question - could any place that nourishes and supports our body, mind and soul to blossom and flourish also be a kind of garden?

I wonder if perhaps it might even be that place in someones's heart that fills up and sometimes overflows with pleasure, caring, giving and love ... oh, I think this one sounds like the gardener.

Something to think about ...

I really appreciate your visit and I'll let you know how the garden turned out in the Fall.
