Memories of June

"Give every day the chance to become
the most beautiful day of your life."
~Mark Twain~

Dona Anderson

So much to love about June.
What are some of the ones on your list.

I thought of a few that may be or were in the
past to help get us started.

*June is often a month of many Weddings
* There's Fathers Day
* The Summer Solstice makes it the first month of summer

* School Finishes
* Many Graduations from kindergarten to Universities
* Summer Holidays - Yes! it's about time

* Going to the lake/cabin, don't forget your bug spray
* Birthdays in June have 3 birthstones to choose from and 2 different Zodiac signs depending on your date of birth

* Flowers & Gardens are growing while we wait for that first pick
* Birds were singing and busy making nests
* Sitting outside in the Sun and not realizing the time

* A summer rain to freshen the air
* Watching the clouds, sunsets, moon and stars
* A walk in your neighborhood, forest or walking trail

I hope You connected to some of these ...

Relax, be gentle with yourself & feel connected to the words Earth & heart -
they both have the same letters just in different places.  ðŸ˜€

PS. Take Care and I hope Your June has been full of many beautiful days.

Let me sit for
awhile in
this place where
the sun is warm
and
roses bloom ...

Time-Lapse: Watch Flowers Bloom Before Your Eyes

Spring is Here!

YES.

Love this video.

It's amazing to watch the time lapse flowers and to see the changes as they bloom.
Beautiful.

Dona Anderson

I always feel that our spring starts early as some of the flower bulbs start growing in late December and sneak above ground for a month or so until they start getting bigger when it's warmer.

We had more cold, snow, rain & wind than normal over the winter so good to see these ones brighten our yard and spirit. Photo left March 22, 2022

Is Spring one of your favorite seasons?

Gifts from our garden last year.

Have a great week and new posts every Tuesday.

Love that the birds are more active
now and singing lots during the day.

PSOne more for you today is a few lines from an ancient Navajo Walk in Beauty Prayer. It certainly fits into the gifts of Spring.

"With beauty before me I walk
With beauty behind me I walk
With beauty above me I walk
With beauty around me I walk
It has become beauty again"

Cozy up, this week we're in Beautiful England

Week 6

Summer of Music continues

with a visit to England

Dona Anderson

I had another video lined up for today but I wasn't feeling it when the time came to finish the post.

Funny how that happens.

It looked good a while back but then ... it wasn't.

So after some searching, I found this lovely one.

I hope you enjoy it.

I for sure loved all the flowers, the gardens and houses.

Beautiful England, friendly and inviting.

We visited England way back in the mid 1970's. The countryside is beautiful and so much history.

We got to spend some time in London sightseeing and also made a trip to Stonehenge where our young daughter and I both still remember a funny kind of feeling present like that of being watched or something else was there besides the tourists.

The world seems to be such as smaller place now as times have changed and we're connected more with news, travel and social media.

I hope you enjoyed this video and it brought you some time to relax, enjoy the beauty of the scenery and gardens.

PS. Our World is a very Beautiful place and we are the present caretakers.

Our legacy will include how it is left for others.

Take Care and have a wonderful week.

Time now to visit a Secret Garden - Poéme

Glad we get to see this one,

August already,

we're on week 5 of our Summer of Music

Dona Anderson

What's in your Garden?

This video is full of beautiful colorful flowers and loved the little birds & animals.

See if you feel like you can smell the flowers and healing breaths from the forests.

What were your favorites today.

When I was a kid we had a park nearby that had swans and I've always admired how they look so elegant and proud.

Hope all is well for you and these videos bring you some moments to pause and relax.

My hope this year for my Summer of Music was to help you relax and enjoy beauty from around the world.

Our Earth is incredible and hopefully in our time here we can help to preserve its beauty and the gifts it offers to all of us.

There's no Place like Home

Mother Earth

Giving Nurturing Guiding

and, accepting of whatever she finds...

Time for another True Treasures post.

Dona Anderson

This post is sharing parts of the relaxation titled Mother Earth on pages 36-37 from  my book,
Simply, One Breath At a Time.

It's time to share a bit of it now.

It starts off with getting you to relax and to choose to be in this moment by helping your breath to breathe you ... help your breath to calm your mind and body.

As you settle imagine the weight of your whole body sinking into the earth ... feel the sense of grounding, of being fully supported by the earth so you can let go with intention and awareness.

I love this next part.

Feel the strength and compassion in which you are being held ... become aware of how you are held without judgment or any gratuities ... that being held is just that, wanting nothing in return ... Mother Earth holds you because that is what she does, she holds us all, and she is accepting of whatever she finds ...

The relaxation then guides you to your breath, letting go, surrendering, releasing and replenishing towards feeling awoken, revived and present.

It ends by returning you to noticing the stillness of this moment.

This moment is Perfect exactly as it is ...

PS. OK, here's another line from the script.

"Say the word calm as you breathe in... can you feel calm as you breathe out ... breathe in calmness and feel calm as you let go..."

Take Care - I hope you enjoyed this True Treasures Post

I wanted to help us connect to Earth Day which for us here in Canada is in a couple of days, April 22.

Whether this post helps you connect to Earths' beauty and magic or it's in your garden, park or community we're needing to support our beautiful earth in many ways.

Let's share some of our ways in the comments.

Every little bit helps. Thank You.

It doesn't have to be Perfect

what looks good

what's art

beauty

and ...

Those seconds in time
capture so much.

Story Time.
The last several years I've taken lots of pictures and although I didn't know much about what I was doing, most seem to turn out pretty good for a point & shoot person.

I still don't know what
I'm doing and that's OK.

As time went on I tried adding words from my books to some of them and seeing it all come together is Fun and very rewarding for me - My Art.

So now when taking pictures I think more about the colors, positioning or whatever it is.

If I added words where would they go, would it look good here or there ...

Decisions we learn as we go along.

What's wonderful for me is when people at the various shows I go to ask if I'm a professional photographer.

One time a lady took about an hour or more and went through all my photo's and commented on them, also saying her Mom was a Professional Photographer and what I was doing was really good,

She told me not to take  lessons(??)

Another thing that's wonderful for me is the noticing of life nature, gardens, water & the sky.

The awareness of the moment fills me
with contentment and gratitude.

Each one seems to become a gift from the season or location which mostly now are from our yard, garden neighborhood and province.

I don't need or even want them to be perfect, just to be natural and beautiful as they are on their own that day.

I've loved travelling and living in various places and enjoyed each for their differences and gifts in the landscape, birds, flowers, crops, people, opportunities and of course the Food.

It's all taught me to appreciate and enjoy wherever Home is at the time and to notice all that it offers.

Home is,
where the Heart is

& beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

The photo's have also become another way
to send Gifts to You.

WHAT's YOUR GARDEN ABOUT?

It's that time of year

Planting the Garden

Dona Anderson

What is a Garden

This is from a few years ago
It seems every year our garden produces one thing in abundance over the rest.

We never know until the fall what that will be - but wishing & hoping is part of the process.

The list over the years has included the cherry tomatoes, apples, spaghetti squash, peppers, snap peas, and basil to name a few.

And it seems that over 200 beautiful walla walla sweet onions is not too many for us to consume every summer.

We'd grow more but they
don't last for keeping.

It's my husbands garden.

The late winter is a busy time getting seeds started and then some move into the green house for more start ups. He tends to them until the right time for them to stand alone and be planted.

He keeps a watchful eye as they grow and we celebrate when it's time for some picking and not shopping at the store.

This month we've been enjoying a mixture of wonderful salad greens, radishes and other herbs.

At each harvest time, I get to see him travelling to neighbors and friends with bowls full of whatever he has, and it's always wonderful to watch the smiles and sparkle in the eyes of others as they gaze at and sample whatever is being shared.

It's just as wonderful to know the gardener passes these gifts on with just a much delight.

So it is true - the old Chinese Proverb he who plants a garden plants happiness”

I’d like to think that perhaps a garden is not just a plot of land for growing vegetables, flowers, fruit or shrubs - to me there may be other kinds of gardens.

I wonder if anywhere we are nurtured and allowed to grow, develop and flourish is a garden setting.

Our home and neighborhood is a place where we plant roots and provide an environment for our family to be cared for and grow to be healthy and strong.

It’s a place where we want to be and feel nourished, supported, protected and safe.

Our many levels of schools and learning centers nurture and tends to us from childhood to adults so we can establish a strong foundation from which we can give our best and blossom through our accomplishments.

Our job, hobbies and passions can also be a place for us to establish ourselves, to grow, mature and display our potential and talents.

So here’s the question - could any place that nourishes and supports our body, mind and soul to blossom and flourish also be a kind of garden?

I wonder if perhaps it might even be that place in someones's heart that fills up and sometimes overflows with pleasure, caring, giving and love ... oh, I think this one sounds like the gardener.

Something to think about ...

I really appreciate your visit and I'll let you know how the garden turned out in the Fall.
