Look up to the stars - what do You see

The Stars make me Dream

"I don't know anything with certainty, but seeing  the stars make me dream."

~Vincent van Gogh~

Here's a little clip from a post back in 2019

Story time - I have to tell you about one night years ago we got up around 2 am to watch the stars.

We had the blankets and pillows all ready to lay outside and hope for something special to happen.

The dogs came out with us and after cuddling awhile and wondering why we weren't in bed, they started to walk around and ended up they both had a big smelly poop close by.

Well that wasn't the special thing we had
hoped to happen that night
.

After getting up and a few laughs we went back to bed.

Summer seems to offer us those special times to stay up later and feel young again with our kids and grandchildren.

Rolling down the front lawn or a splash of water at the beach on someone always gives us a chance to play even in an unexpected way.

Perhaps the extra glass of wine helps too!

I don't have any memories of having fun with my parents or grandparents other than a card game we played at Christmas so it's a special time for me to be part of, to learn from and definitely want to do more.

PS. Those remember when family times are important
for sharing & saving.

Take Care as we continue to make
our way through 2022.

I hope you're having a good day and there's
something that will make it special.

A nap sounds good to me.

Thanks for your visit.

Memories of June

"Give every day the chance to become
the most beautiful day of your life."
~Mark Twain~

Dona Anderson

So much to love about June.
What are some of the ones on your list.

I thought of a few that may be or were in the
past to help get us started.

*June is often a month of many Weddings
* There's Fathers Day
* The Summer Solstice makes it the first month of summer

* School Finishes
* Many Graduations from kindergarten to Universities
* Summer Holidays - Yes! it's about time

* Going to the lake/cabin, don't forget your bug spray
* Birthdays in June have 3 birthstones to choose from and 2 different Zodiac signs depending on your date of birth

* Flowers & Gardens are growing while we wait for that first pick
* Birds were singing and busy making nests
* Sitting outside in the Sun and not realizing the time

* A summer rain to freshen the air
* Watching the clouds, sunsets, moon and stars
* A walk in your neighborhood, forest or walking trail

I hope You connected to some of these ...

Relax, be gentle with yourself & feel connected to the words Earth & heart -
they both have the same letters just in different places.  ðŸ˜€

PS. Take Care and I hope Your June has been full of many beautiful days.

Let me sit for
awhile in
this place where
the sun is warm
and
roses bloom ...

Summer of Music 2021 will take you to incredible dreamy places

You won't want to miss it,

but First

The Great Bell Chant (The End Of Suffering)

Dona Anderson

Hello, Hi and great to have you visit here today.

Thank You for letting me come into your inbox, your day and space.

My 5th Summer of Music starts next week and I wanted it to be a bit different this year.

so - this year we're travelling to far off places.

We're visiting parts of our wonderful World, our Earth to see some of the many many Gifts She gives us.

For over a year we all have been affected by much stress, sorrow, hardships and many words have become new to us and many changes made.

It was I guess our turn to learn some of what our parents, grandparents, and those before them felt and experienced.

Our inter-generational memory has been updated.

Over the Summer You will find these words in the titles.

Amazing Beautiful Breathtaking Secret

But first I want to share this video to
help us relax and breathe.

The Great Bell Chant (the End of Suffering)

Summer of Music starts next week.

You will get to see a few of the Gifts from where we all call Home.

The Mountains and Rivers

Sky and Stars

Flowers and Birds

Animals and Fish

Forests and Fields

This World is where all of us live as
well as our Dreams.

I hope over the Summer we will connect more to all our Earth has to offer us - her people, places, nature and more.

How many words would it take to describe it all?

Here are just a few ...

 Amazing  Beautiful  Breathtaking
Eye Opening  Loving  Graceful  Nourishing

Share some of yours in the comments below.

PS. the 2 pictures I added to this post are from
my part of the World.

No - I don't want to Say Goodbye to Summer

September 1.

Seems like overnight
Summer came & went

but now it's time to look forward to the colors of Fall.

Dona Anderson

Summer is almost over and for me it always feels done once September begins.

It's kind of the timetable for getting back to our regular life again but 2020 has not been normal for any of us.

We don't know what normal activities will return or what they will look like.

Our lives have been changed and we will need to be patient and hope for the best.

I do hope you enjoyed the selections for this years Summer of Music.

It's always FUN for me to pick them.

Did You have a favorite?

Your Time spent outside enjoying

*all the beautiful flowers, fruit, vegetables

*walks in the woods, gardens, parks, at the beach

* or maybe this year it was just sitting outside reading or doing nothing

*watching & listening to the birds and the bees buzzing around

or perhaps just staying close to home

*watching the sunrise or sunsets ...

GARDEN in your DREAMS

Starts with ...

"Let me sit for awhile in this

place where the sun is warm

 and roses bloom ..."

Dona Anderson

I was outside one beautiful day in late July and decided that the colors of the flowers and vegetables in the yard that were so lovely would be my pick for the Winner of the Garden this year.

Have a look back at this post from May about the garden picks for previous years.

Later as I sat on the deck the Meditation titled Garden in your Dreams, page 63 from my book Moving forward from the Heart started to appear in my mind.

It's about a special garden and although I didn't refer to it as a Chakra Meditation in the book, it goes through all the colors of the chakra rainbow.

The second paragraph says

"As each breath gently fills and opens your senses, begin to visualize a dream garden full of flowers, vegetables, fruit, trees, soft grass and a pond. Birds come to visit, good friends come to visit, and it's here that every day is a really good day.

It then takes you around the yard to connect to all the different colors, to see, smell & taste some and to rest and connect to others.

That's what I was doing that day.

Relaxing in a garden full of happiness and renewal

A place for friendships and memories

A place where you can dream,

and let everything else gently fade away.

Here's some of what I got to see

Red - petunias, gladiolas, geraniums, roses, berries, pears, beets, tomatoes, peppers
Orange - gladiolas, nasturtiums, lilies, other flowers, carrots, peppers
Yellow - sun flowers, squash, roses, other flowers, beans, peppers
Green- grass, leaves, lettuce, cucumbers, beans, peppers, basil, herbs
Blue - sky, other flowers, pond, Hydrangeas, pansies
Indigo - Hydrangeas, pansies, lavender, other flowers, berries, gladiolas
Violet- Hydrangea (I have 6 of them) dahlias, roses, other flowers

Besides the seeing - there was definitely a lot
of tasting going on.
Sorry -
I don't remember the
names of the other
flowers from the
garden center.

What's your garden about?

Have a wonderful day and please
visit again soon.

It's time to Wake Up and Enjoy the Day

& the under the Stars Story

Dona Anderson

This post is kind of a check in before the Summer of Music starts next week.

Do you have plans for the summer?

Here are a few lines from the Meditation -

Wake Up and Enjoy the Day.

It starts with ...

The grass can wait
The dishes can wait
The laundry can wait

Listen to the sounds around you,
the birds, the passing breeze,
your breath.

The short excerpt above is from Meditation #45, page 112 in Moving Forward from the Heart.

It mentions summer activities but this can be anytime, or another season that we do activities for that season in.

It just wants to make you the priority for some of your to do lists with an I get to do list.

Ask yourself - What makes you happy and makes you smile.

What refreshes and nourishes your body & soul.

Later it ends with this last thought - If today is just for you, what will you do?

The summer goes by so fast that I always find it to be a more important time of year to notice and be present.

We need to rest and enjoy those warm days and nights - and remember to make a few lazy days and do nothing days to just breathe life in.

Even simple things like I love to watch the birds visit the yard, notice what changes from day to day in the garden, or just sit by myself for an hour or so and do nothing but nourish my soul.

Over the summer I hope you will exchange the Busy word for something like I'm having Fun or doing lots of reading on the porch, planning a BBQ, exploring the parks, going to the lake or on vacation, camping the the backyard, I'm growing lots of  fresh vegetables or ...

Well that wasn't the special thing we had
hoped to happen that night.

After getting up and a few laughs we went back to bed.

Please Take Care of you,

and enjoy this years

Summer of Music starting next week.

Regular posts will return in September.

SUMMER breezes

Warm Summer Breezes ...

Have a seat for a few minutes.

Dona Anderson

I was looking for a Meditation the other day and came across this one that mentioned the warm breezes of summer.

So I decided to share it with you and let it Welcome all of us to this years summer starting in a few days.

This is from CLOSE your eyes. It's #20 in my book, Moving Forward from the Heart - page 60

Before we start imagine sitting on this bench and enjoying a few breaths to get yourself relaxed ... when you're ready, let this meditation relax you even more...

"When the soft warm summer breezes begin to blow, soften your eyes so you can see more clearly, and let yourself relax, renew and reflect.

Enjoy a big yawn or a stretch to open your body and mind ...

Now gently ...

                                        Breathe in Strength
to send out gentleness

                               Breathe in Balance
to help you move forward

                               Breathe in Patience
to achieve greatness

                               Breathe in Joy

to take on your journey

                               Breathe in Silence
to hear your heart sing,

                                      Let your breath
Carry your heart songs out into the breeze
to be shared with the world .."

© Dona Anderson 2015

Before you go - rest and enjoy a few more minutes to let your breath take you to a place of gentleness to help you to move forward, achieve greatness, take on your journey and make your heart sing.

 and then Let your breath
Carry your heart songs out into the breeze
to be shared with the world ..

i HOPE your day is full of warm summer breezes or if it's another season where you live, please enjoy what it offers you today as well.

And, you can add it to your Wellness toolbox to save for when it is summer or to enjoy any time!

Take Care.
