Another Year that will not be forgotten

Moving on but not forgetting

Dona Anderson

When was the last year we had a break from all that's been going on ?

We had another year with too much stress, death, loss and destruction ...

So let's change the Story to help us Feel better for a few minutes.

I'm sure we could all make a long list of what went wrong these last few years, so instead lets leave that and remember the GOOD Stuff from the same couple of years.

I know it'll take a bit to focus in on it and remember the Good.

The last few years have been hard but often the good stuff is there too that we need to remember.

There's been lots of change everywhere and I guess our lists may all be very  different.

What things stood out for You?

What things were You thankful for?

Thankfully the daily news is not all bad.

Maybe you had lots of support you never imagined.

I saw a lot of people helping others, bringing them into their homes and providing a safe place.

I saw food being made and served to the hungry

Pets being rescued and looked after

Vaccines made and continued to be given out

Medical workers helping others when they needed it too

Food Banks getting donations and sending them out

Countries helping other countries

Friends starting to gather again

People smiling

Change being more readily accepted and tried

Zoom and other things helped people connect

Working from home saved time, money & more

Things started to open up again

Traveler's hitting the roads and skies

Those were some I quickly thought of - what are yours?

What's on your list?

PS.  when I worked I was always proactive in getting things started or done ahead of time to lessen the stress of something happening later on so I guess I've been also doing this the last 12years with these now over 700 posts.

The weeks go by so fast that my getting a few posts ahead doesn't last long.

I think it was easier at work as I knew what I needed to do but here it's made up and different every week - not like a work done report kind of thing.

As we head in 2023 I'll soon be nearing 800 posts.

This was Never imagined in my wildest dreams and mine are pretty weird.

I'll try to continue to bring you relaxation, inspiration, peace, hope, music and more to support your Wellness and Self Care.

I hope you've had many favorites or ones over the years you've connected to for some special reason.

In my Book Moving Forward from the Heart the first meditation is titled,

So Much More to See

and the last one is titled,

You became the Beauty

In between these two are 71 other meditations to support your day & life to

Discover your own true self as you

slow down and listen.

Susan Boyle - I Dreamed a Dream (Audio)

Today we have
Susan Boyle.

and the beautiful song from Les Misérables

I Dreamed a Dream.
Dona Anderson

Summer of Music
Week 5.

As children we had many dreams, some lasted a day or maybe till tomorrow.

As little ones we often were asked what do we wanted to be when we grow up.

When I was young the world didn't change much over the years but now things change so fast. Some good and some not.

Many dreams are attainable now with doors opening, new technology, for those being older, women working, support and opportunities for disabilities and much more.

This song is healing and allows us all to Dream while knowing things can change and sometimes that offers another dream that's the one right for You.

PS. what are/were your dreams?

What are the ones you still have for the future.

Some people go back to college at an older age, some as they age finally have the time to start a new career, one they wanted to do, or finally have the time to go fishing or travel.

Some want to garden, learn new skills like in the arts or theater, play an instrument, or maybe for you it's to volunteer, write songs or children's books.

They can be everyday things - dreams let you do what you want to do or never even thought of that you enjoy & love where time flies by and doesn't feel like work.

Listening to Susan sing this song so beautifully and then go on with her career gave us all the opportunity to Dream again.

Thanks for your visit today and
it's week 6 already next Tuesday.

Love it when you share with others at the links below so we continue to travel around the world. (my Dream)

After hundreds of years we still haven't figured it out.

Don't give up yet, we have things to do.

Dona Anderson

The last couple of years has shown us we need a lot of change.

And, it comes to us in many different ways from  ...

      The weather
      to Violence
      Murder
      War
      Illness
      Lies
      hardship
      homeless
      accidents
      Fires
      clean water
      empty shelves
      hording
      and more.

I remember in the beginning of the pandemic we heard the words saying we want to go back to normal.

Then we heard voices that said our before life wasn't normal.

Will these last couple of years finally become that wake up call.

I heard this interview in the video below and had to share it.

I believe a lot of us know change is needed but where can it start.

Hopefully we can find things we can do and peacefully use our voice/votes to secure change on the bigger scale.

Change needs to come in many ways even in how we shop and spend money.

How our purchases affect nature, wildlife, rivers, oceans and more.

Change doesn't just come from politicians.  We vote them in.

Every little bit helps.

PS. As I was listening to the video I thought of how things we buy like appliances and other things don't last very long anymore. - what happened to quality.

How much garbage we throw out in packaging, having to get the new model, and all the plastic waste. We see the sale sign and suddenly need something we didn't an hour ago.

Here's a few lines from the meditation Why should We in my book Moving Forward from the Heart on page 69.

"Why should we support the future of the World?

Because each one of us can make a difference.

We can be more kind, understanding and compassionate to others.

We can listen more, use better words, be more creative, intuitive and expand our role to being guardians, caretakers and caregivers over that of bystanders and consumers."

We can - You can - I can.

Don't miss this - Tedx Talk Erin Gruwell

 Becoming a Catalyst for Change

Freedom Writers

Dona Anderson

I'm very glad you're here to watch this video.

It is amazing.

The power of one.

Shared with us in 18.34 minutes.

What an interesting Story

Life Changing.

I am very thankful I got to watch an earlier video of her start to see what became a very inspiring story that I wanted to share with You.

Life Changing for 150 kids and many others.

Think of a big trip, meeting someone very special who helped others, a book and a movie.

Think about possible drop outs that went on to be graduates and will change their life and future.

I hope each of you have had one or more  people in your life that helped inspire you on your journey.

Someone you remember that Helped you figure things out, showed you a different  way, or showed you that they cared and believed in You.

It could be a teacher, friend, relative, parent or even a book ...

PS. It's funny how sometimes it takes me longer

to find one of my photo messages that fits with the post than it does to write the rest of it.

This one took a long time ....

I hope you enjoyed this story and can imagine how it changed many lives.

A lot to take in.

Thanks for your visit today.

New posts every Tuesday.

Bye for now.

The Weight | Featuring Robbie Robertson and Ringo Starr| Playing For Cha...

Welcome Back!

Happy New Year.

Dona Anderson

Hope you had a wonderful start
 to this NEW YEAR 2021.

I saw this video and thought it would be nice to start the New Year off with a song that's sung from places around the World.

Our Earth our World has been through so much this last year and the song video lets us know we are connected in so many ways and we can help each other, even if it's for a Song.

See you next week.

Please Take Care.

Thanks for sharing at the links below.

PS. Did You make a New Years wish?
It seems they are becoming more personal
and meaningful these last couple of years.

Fred Rogers: Look for the Helpers

Mr Rogers x 2

Did you see the Movie
Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood?

If so, you may remember the message I'm sharing below.

And while searching for that it I found this video so I had to share both.

Two messages for us today.
Dona Anderson

I didn't get to see Mr. Rogers TV show but I knew it was important for little ones

and, for some reason I HAD to see the movie.

Tom Hanks did a wonderful job.

Here's the message, say it slow like he did.

“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable.

When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary.

The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.

― Fred Rogers

Here's the video, Look for the Helpers

I also like this video.

Both let us feel that there's Hope.

Thank You Mr. Rogers
& Thanks for your visit today.
Links for sharing below.
Check out the Web version
to see the labels and archives.

A new word I learned recently from a Ted Talk I have scheduled in a few weeks is Sawubona from South Africa which is to say Hello but also goes deeper into saying I see you and more which is something I think Mr Rogers was about.

My Way (Charity Single) By Margaret Mackie & Jamie Lee Morley #OurStory ...

Alzheimer's Awareness Month

Dona Anderson

I saw this a few days ago and thought it would be lovely to share.

Thanks to the various experts and campaigns for Alzheimer's Awareness month there is more information on the various types of dementia and more personal stories being shared to let us learn from, understand and give support.

Music has been found to help support their day - the songs of their generation, Christmas carols, Classical music or whatever it is.  It can be calming, comforting, and let time pass being more relaxed.

It's important that others get to share in those moments, a time when we can all forget about the disease and just focus on the present to enjoy the precious Gifts they leave us ...

This video is one. 💚

a Magical Gift for us to hold in our hearts.

Take Care.

Coming up next week.
February is my Heart & Love Month
be sure to visit for Music, Rumi and a
Message from the heart starts it off.

What a Wonderful World | Playing For Change

Another One of my favorite Songs

You'll love it too!!

Dona Anderson

Cheerful. Happy. Colorful. Fun.

It is a wonderful world!

If  you've visited here frequently you will
have noticed I have Many Favorite Songs!

Can't help it - so much to like.

If you're still in the New Years' spirit or just want to stand up, sing and dance around - please go for it.

I did a few times, and it's great for just letting yourself move and sing to let go of Stress and get your Smile on.

We really need all of us together singing loudly and protecting our Wonderful World before it's too late.

Change is happening so fast ...

Thank You.

Needing a few more moments to soften,
breathe and let your heart sing.
from last summer.
Enjoy.

Let's send prayers out to Australia
and others in need of help.

Thanks for helping these weekly posts travel the World.
Already 14 countries have visited here in one week.

Very glad I found this video in the Archives (December 2015) when I went looking for past posts to put in the Christmas combo I did in November.

I listened and fell in love with it all over again. Song first recorded in 1967.
