Don't Throw Your Moments Away!

Dona Anderson

C. JoyBell C. Quote

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

Hi and I hope all is well for you today!

I wanted to share this quote from C. JoyBell C. with you as it talks to many of us.

"You can be the most beautiful person in the world and everybody sees light and rainbows when they look at you, but if you yourself don't know it, all of that doesn't even matter. Every second that you spend on doubting your worth, every moment that you use to criticize yourself, is a second of your life wasted, is a moment of your life thrown away. It's not like you have forever, so don't waste any of your seconds, don't throw even one of your moments away." ~ C. Joybell C.~

 Words have Power!

There are many times in our life experiences that we doubt ourselves and a lot of our self talk can be words we would never say to someone else.  How many times do we put ourselves down with little negative thoughts that build up over time.

Are the words you say to yourself Positive or Negative.  Get a notebook and write down some of those little things you say to yourself. You may be surprised.  Challenge the negatives, they are usually all untrue.

Let's work together to not throw our moments away because we don't have forever!

Say - I AM Beautiful. I AM Strong. I AM Wise. I AM Enough. I AM Happy. I AM Well.

You are Beautiful, Strong, Wise, Enough, Happy and Well!

Thanks C.Joybell C.

Let's say that again!

I AM Beautiful.  I AM Strong. I AM Wise.  I AM Enough. I AM Happy. I AM Well.

Bring Him Home, Les Misérables - Alfie Boe and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Bring Him Home

From Les Misérables

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

I saw this play last year and loved it!

Last week I was reminded of this song, Bring Him Home when I met a gentleman who was going to be singing it in a Remembrance Day Service, November 11.  It is a beautiful song and means so much.

I wanted to share it with you.

Please bring them all home.

Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend

Oprah Wows the Audience

Oprah's Weekend Event

Oprah said,
Together - we rise!

Last weekend I had the wonderful opportunity to go to this two-day event in Seattle and take a journey to again visit connection, gratitude, intention, resilience, things that matter and present moments.

Oprah and her Trail Blazers Mark Nepo, Elizabeth Gilbert, Rob Bell, Iyanla Vanzant and other guests shared stories, meditations, and we were doing lots of dancing and even exercising.

We looked at what we want in our life, what our life looks like today, and visions for the future.

Oprah quote "Create the highest, grandest vision for your life. Then let every step move you in that direction."

Everyone's vision will be unique to them and a reminder take away for me was that we are to live our life not someone else's.  Our life is for our dreams, visions, and goals.

Our life journey is for us to experience and share.

We have the choice whether to keep telling and experiencing old thoughts and stories or create and start new ones.

It is our journey to find out what matters to us, and what we want to take forward.

Oprah said in a paragraph from our workbook "Every moment you have the choice to open up ... to listen to the whispers and live the way your life is nudging you to live ... to walk boldly on your own life's path."

Relaxation, Lost now Found

Finding Real Relaxation

What is relaxation?

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

Yoga introduced me to Guided Relaxation

Here's how it started ...

At the end of each class we were asked to breathe and relax our body.  At first I fell asleep, when I was able to stay awake I was usually restless, replayed conversations, or was reminded of all the things I had to do.  Is this relaxation?  I think I need more practice!
Dona Anderson

Real relaxation does require practice, patience, and it has an intention.  It asks you to be aware and notice as you slowly relax different areas of the body and deepen your breath. You will hear words such as release, soften, let go, calm, slow, feel, open, allow, and breathe.

A guided relaxation invites you to follow along, to focus on the breath, an area of your body, a place, a thought, or perhaps a smile. While you follow along and breathe, you slowly begin to let go of all those other thoughts, you begin to clear and open the mind, and you start to move into the present moment.

What I soon discovered was a very precious lifelong gift.

I found a time to soften and breathe.  I found a time to feel comfortable with who I am.  I found a time to remove obstacles, release tension, and I found a place to notice the difference, to feel it, to be with it.   The practice opened me up to a place where I had tried to reach before but had never quite made it.

The awareness and benefits you gain can also help you use the breath in your everyday life as a tool to support your wellness.  Whether it is for a quick busy day refresher, when you feel out of balance, or in times of stress, you can focus on your breath and watch as it gently relaxes you and guides you back to the present moment.

You can practice relaxation almost anywhere and anytime.  Even a minute can help separate you from a stress, a worry, or a busy time and place.  You’ll be able to experience the feeling of your breath bringing you back to balance and to peaceful thoughts.   You may even find an open space in your schedule and in your mind.

Let the breath take you where you need to go!

Laughter yoga: laughing away the stress

Laughter Yoga

Have you heard of it?

Yes it works!

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

Real laughs and fake laughter work the same for the health of our bodies!
See more benefits in the link I included below

Laughter Yoga - There are classes around the world and some are even set up for specific practitioner needs.

I did a workshop a few years ago at a weekend retreat.  There was about 30 of us in the class and first it did seem hard to get started. Watch the video and then I'll tell you more below.

What do you think?  Is it something you could try?

In the class I did we started out doing the fake stuff and were given things for us to do or say to laugh at.

Later on the laughs started to come on their own and we all kept feeding off each other.  We ended the class all lying on the floor in a big circle that just laughed.  Someone would start it and then we'd all go off and then quiet down and then it would start again. The guy beside me had a cute giggle that set me off many times.

It was a great workout. I was exhausted and sweating at the end!  For the rest of the weekend if anyone of us heard any laughter from somewhere we and would automatically start to laugh as well for no reason.

Have to tell you, those that didn't attend the class wished they had!

See if there is a class where you live or try to make up things on your own.  Make this your special time to release stress and as they say, Fake it till you Make it.

Invest in yourself!

When was the last time you had a really good laugh?  I hope it was today.

Need more convincing?
