You can start this today.

Planting Seeds of Wellness

Dona Anderson

Don't judge each day by the Harvest you reap,
but by the Seeds that you Plant.

~Robert Louis Stevenson ~

Dona Anderson
Summer is a busy time for projects to make our homes and yards beautiful, strong and healthy.  We work on Restoring, Opening up, Refreshing and Rebuilding!

We also spend hours in our gardens where we Plant seeds, Tend, Coax, Anticipate, Watch and Praise each bloom. There are the daily rituals and later we Celebrate the rewards.

A healthy home and garden can also be a Retreat. A place where family and friends gather, a place for laughter, smiles, flowers, fresh produce and a place for birds and butterflies to enjoy.

This Summer you can also Plant, Tend and Coax seeds of Wellness.

You can watch with anticipation and praise as you let go of stress
and Celebrate the rewards.

This summer discover easy ways to restore, renew, refresh and rebuild yourself.

Your daily ritual becomes getting to know yourself as you are now and finding your retreat.

Your project can be to build a more relaxed and healthier you, to see it and to feel the difference.

The first step is to set aside a few minutes everyday to separate yourself from whatever you are doing.  Your only focus for this couple of minutes is yourself.

It's as easy as a couple of minutes and one breath at a time.

Loosen and soften your shoulders, sit comfortably and relax through the rest of your body as you take two or three deep breaths.

Then let out a big sigh to let your mind and body know there is a change coming.

Relax more as you soften your eyes, your jaw, and the rest of your face.  Now invite your mind to follow the rhythm of your natural breath.

If other thoughts come up, gently ease your mind back to your breath.  Continue to relax your whole body and simply breathe one breath at a time

Continue to invite relaxation in your mind as you follow the breath.

After a minute or two, take a deep breath, stretch or loosen your body a bit and sit quietly for another minute or so before returning to your day.

Summer is also a great time to enjoy the gifts that beautify your neighborhood and community.

Go for leisurely walks or sit outside and really notice the grass, trees, flowers, birds or the clouds.

Focus on the textures, mix of colors, sizes, shapes, and breathe in the fragrances of summer.

PS. This Summer plant seeds of Wellness!

A place to be happy
feel happy, and
breathe happy ...

Vancouver was so much Fun!

Concert, Stanley Park, People watching ...

Weekend Trip!

And, the Ferry ride which I refer to as my Cruise

Dona Anderson

Andrea Bocelli was amazing.
His voice is so wonderful!

In the first part he sang some opera pieces and the second was absolutely breathtaking with all the favorites and I got a new favorite  for the duet song the Prayer, Heather Headley.  I had never heard her beautiful voice before but she is amazing.

 Stanley Park & Aquarium

I also got to go the Aquarium in Stanley Park. The park is beautiful and the Aquarium is worth the tired feet afterwards.  So much to see and enjoy. Also good food and ice cream.  There were lots of people there but it never felt overcrowded.

The Most Powerful Video on Spirituality and Happiness - Rare Eckhart Tol...

Eckhart Tolle

Sorry this video is no longer available

Finding presence and awareness!

Dona Anderson, Roots to Breath

Aware Presence.

Interesting video, lots to explore and take in.

I enjoyed the beginning outdoor park setting and the relaxed conversation.

Echhart was on TV etc a lot years ago and as I'm older and my life has totally changed since then I am interested to see what I take away now from all this information.

Were you also part of Eckhart and Oprah's online A New Earth series in 2008.  That was really a trailblazer for all that is available now.  Wow!

I think this video will be one to watch a few mores times.

Retirement is Here - Now What!

Are You Planning or already Retired?

Are you nervous to take that next step in Life?

Dona Anderson

Dona Anderson
I don't want to waste this time I waited so long for!

Sound familiar!

Did you have one or are making that I want to do list
for retirement?

Our early retirement was preplanned years in advance.  We wanted to move to the location of our choice before we got much older.  When I got here permanently we were  still doing lots of finishing work on the house and yard so I ended up not really loving all of my new life at first, and although  I had my list, I soon found out it no longer suited me.

After a while things started to shift slowly and over the next few years a new life began to emerge. A life that was never imagined.

What did I get myself into?

In 2012, I wrote an article for Island Gals magazine.  After the first one the Publisher thought my story would help other ladies who found it hard to leave the busyness and routine of work life, so my one article became a series of 4 for the year.  She said some ladies she knew even found it hard to pamper or reinvest in themselves to support this next phase of their lives.

Not sure about you, but I hope to be enjoying my Retirement years for a long time so I will need lots of pampering and investing.

I hope you'll take a look at my stories ...

I'm sharing the links for the repost version as it is interesting to read the later thoughts I added at the start. Just click on the title to take you there!

Yogis, I think you'll especially like the last one of the series, Pages for you ... just to be you!

I recently watched a PBS Special with Dr. Christiane Northrup talking about her new book, Goddesses Never Age.  I really agree with her message about changing our thoughts, and how we speak to ourselves and act etc.  I think I'll start work on becoming a Goddess!

Thanks for sharing with others at the links below.
