Did you hear it?

For some reason it stays ...

You got the message!

You've heard it before

We’ve all had those times when we heard or read a few words, lines, or a story that for some reason stayed with us.  It was our time to hear the message, it clicked in some way.

It makes perfect sense ...

A few of mine provided me with things I already knew but sometimes the message needs repeating or needs to be given by someone else to be really noticed, heard, and felt.

This time it sinks in and holds on!

Here are four that became part of my living, sharing, and my growing. Now they can be part of Yours.

Live More

Several years ago I went to a great young hairdresser. I knew she had been sick but she was better, back to work part time, and she was excited to finally be going away for a week vacation in Mexico.

One day she told me that she didn’t want to get better to work more, she wanted to get better so she could live more!  A couple months later her illness returned and she quickly passed.

New Romance

At a class on celebrating the poet Rumi, I partnered with a wonderful lady.  We had lots of fun talking about the poems and when we got to one of the love poems I mentioned something about when someone falls in love it doesn’t matter what age they are they become so happy, full of life, and they want to tell everyone about their new love.

After class she said how true that was as she was in her early eighties and now had a new love in her life.  She sparkled as she told me that even though they didn’t live in the same town they visited as much as they could, and that they had so much to tell each other as they didn’t know how much time they had. About six months later, I saw in the paper that she had passed after a very brief illness.

Reconnecting

Years ago I was talking to a friend about how to stay in contact with friends and family when we are all living in different places.  She told me she had been reconnecting with a much older sister that she didn’t know very well due to their age differences and each living in different parts of the country.

She said she started to call her sister on a regular basis and at first they didn’t have anything to talk about. Then she said, the more she called and they talked the more they had to talk about.

Focusing on the Now

We visited an elderly couple quite frequently many years ago.  They had a very spread out family and years later at her funeral a nephew who was doing the service told us about how she enjoyed each time someone visited and how she focused on the time they had to spend together, not the time in between. He said there were never any feelings of guilt for not visiting more and his memories would always be of her generous love and welcoming!

What are some inspiring messages You hold on to?
