It's Time for YOU to Fly

All of a sudden the World as we knew it changes ...

Dona Anderson

You knew it was coming BUT ...

So many changes to deal with in our lives.

Just growing up is enough.

It's full of learning and then on to getting a good job, a place to live, maybe marriage, then maybe children and so on.

Then our life and feelings change again as the children grow up and leave home, or from leaving a job, retirement or loss of purpose.

As we get older our relationships and bodies change, our interests change.

During all this we can start to have feelings of loneliness, sadness, worry, or anxiety.  We can lose energy, have fear about the future and more.

You know what I mean, the list can be quite lengthy.

Last November at a Christmas Craft Faire a customer asked me which of my books would be better for her sister who she said was dealing with feelings of loss being a new Empty nester.

I handed her Moving Forward from the Heart and said it would be wonderful.

Along with some great relaxations it offers many Meditations that would connect her to who she is now and that support change, discovery, dreams, pursuing new interests all while being inspiring, encouraging and being part of everyday life.

Later I started recalling many of the Meditations she would come across and I was excited to have had the opportunity to help.

Your sharing at the Links below help this dream to spread - thank you.

Check out the label Moving Forward below to read more.

I'm not talking about some of the extreme styles that take years of practice.

I want you to be able start NOW today.

Please stay and check out the information coming up - this may be exactly what you need to learn about today.

Google benefits of Meditation, Guided Meditation & Relaxation and wow there is so much to check out.  One site I found had 141 benefits.

Here's just a few

Relaxation & Meditation made Easy

Increases happiness, awareness, memory

Improves focus, attention, decision making, relationships

Reduces stress, blood pressure, worry, anxiety

Ya But - Resistance
It's a waste of time, difficult, I get restless, agitated

I can't - Too many thoughts - we'll always have thoughts coming so just let them go and bring your focus back to your next breath.

It's hard - I want EASY
any of these sound familiar ...

To help you I wrote lots of different scripts that do all the work - you just follow along.

They will take you on an adventure or help you discover your body and breath.

They might invite you to rest, go to a far off place like your toes, ask you to smile or maybe give yourself a hug.

You can do this  and I've given you links to scripts and messages later in this post.

You'll Learn to let go of all the chatter by just taking a breath and starting to read.  You can start with one sentence, paragraph or a page.

The more you practice this type of relaxation and the quieting of the body and mind it gets easier and quicker to experience those benefits and make them part of your life.

Where - Find your place of comfort whether it's sitting on the floor with cushions, a chair/recliner or enjoying those last few minutes before you go to sleep in bed at night 💗 Relaxing Bedtime Stories.

Change where you practice. I have my yoga room that's quiet and comfortable with lots of bolsters and blankets and I also like to sit outside in the garden in the summer or by the fireplace in the winter. It's also fun to go to the beach, sit on a log and just breathe.

It's funny how You can even become still and quiet in busy noisy places. You can use the time on your bus rides, while waiting for an appointment or taking a few breaths to relax in the grocery store lineup.

How - At first you may not want to read all of a script - that's OK, you can skip words, lines, change them to bring in your own special affirmations, breath exercises or whatever you want your practice to be about.

You can read it to yourself or to someone else.

And if someone reads to you it's OK to nod off if you need to for a few minutes - happens a lot. Later you will find you stay more alert and present.

Everyday is different and some days it does take longer to relax and that's OK.  I usually find that on those days the Relaxation/Meditation is needed even more.

It's fun to share and read to others so they to can feel joy, presence, awareness and gratitude.

I love to hear others taking those full breaths as they get relaxed and one of my favorite memories of this is when I'd read to one of my best friends who had Parkinson's.

She had tremors very bad and within a few minutes she would get so relaxed, become still, quiet and go to sleep in her chair.  (Yes her husband on the couch would be sleeping as well)  Usually when I stopped talking they wake up but sometimes not.

How do I get started -  here goes

This started it all - Simply, One Breath At a Time

I know I'm Weird - I'm a Scorpio

We all need those few moments to relax when we're feeling overwhelmed!

~ from the Meditation Breathe Easy in
Moving Forward from the Heart © 2015 Dona Anderson~

I celebrate

the gifts found in
breath

and stillness,

it's a time

to give thanks for the

precious moments that can

be found in

each day of my life...

One of my weirdness (should that be plural some how?) is that I like to pick small wellness messages out of the Meditations I write to use on their own.

They're great for those times when we just need to remind ourselves to breathe, be mindful of our activities and even to just take a breath to feel and notice life around us.

The one in the picture is the ending for the Meditation Breathe Easy in my book, Moving Forward from the Heart.

As this meditation goes along it asks us to think about using each one of the words celebrate, gifts, breath, stillness. time and thanks in a sentence.

Later it ends with all the words in this one message that leads you into your peaceful Meditation time.

Don't ignore your Feelings or your Stress

Ok maybe I'm not that weird??

But maybe we all are when we answer this question ...

If you were a flavour - what would you be?

Do you Enjoy doing Nothing?

when you're not rushed.

We think about Relaxation as not doing anything but this can be one of the hardest things to do.

For many of us, slowing down, trying to quiet the thoughts in our mind and relaxing the body to release tension and stress can be difficult.

With practice it gets easier and the body responds faster knowing the many benefits to come.

I hope you'll rest awhile with the few words following this picture and let any discomforts release as you become more comfortable.

You Deserve to Feel Better Today!

Enjoy this short pause in your day.

Let your body find a place of stillness ...
As your mind quiets let your whole body access your inner self and
journey to a place that is still ...
a place that is silent ...
a place without thoughts ...
journey to a place where you can listen to your heart...

Christmas Word Game ~ © Dona Anderson

I give a paper copy of this out at the couple of Christmas shows I go to and visitors love to get a few for their children or to do themselves just for fun.

It's like a mini Meditation to just sit and discover the words or sometimes one will have a special meaning that day to sit with for a few minutes.

Did you have Fun?

Love our Chloe, West Highland White Terrier (Westie)

She has been our bundle of JOY for

all these years.

 Love her so much.

We're thankful for each day we have her.

She's almost 15 now and her sister Lucy our Scottie girl 3, is doing a good job looking after her when needed.  Although Lucy is getting a bit tired of Chloe often trying to eat her food.

I have other pictures I could have shared with you but this one grabbed my heart.

Our pets will have their stockings out for Santa too. They like to be included in the Sparkle and Magic of the holidays.

OK, to be honest it's the treats they really want.

We'll be looking forward to the rest of the month as we sit by the fireplace or on the front porch when it's a sunny afternoon cuddled up in a blanket.

Move over I need some of that blanket too!!!

Goodies are coming later.

Do you have pet stories to tell?

Love to hear about them.
