Take a few moments to imagine Yourself resting in this space.

It was a beautiful spring day and everywhere I turned I saw a picture.

This walk in nature was an opportunity to let go of the outside world and just be one with the trees, the grass and the new blossoms of Spring.

Did you forget to breathe today?

Often when we get stressed, excited, or focused on something we forget to breathe, and our breathing changes as our activities change throughout the day.

Here's a reminder to simply begin again ...

Take a moment to focus on your breath, to feel it, to hear it.

Simply take one inhale and watch as it releases into an exhale … notice that at the end of the exhale another inhale begins …

Now, take your first breath in this new moment,
let this breath be somewhere to begin ...

I hope you enjoyed this little reminder, and will add it to your Wellness Toolbox.

It Got a Whole Lot Easier!

The Slope from Uncomfortable

to Comfortable

Finding Help for Yourself

Roots to Breath Wellness
Dona Anderson

The first time I went for massage therapy years ago I didn’t know what to do or how I’d feel after.

Basically, I was a bit nervous and scared so this added even more stress to my sore back, shoulders and the rest of me.

The second time was better, and I knew it was needed, and that I was starting a wellness journey that would require a continued and perhaps a life long commitment from me.

The third time I was excited to go

That allowed me to get more comfortable, relaxed and I was able to absorb & hold on to even more.

Planting seeds for Change.

The beginning of the guided relaxation titled Peace Be Still on page 53 in Simply, One Breath At a Time, helps you to understand that even relaxation is a practice that develops over time.

Here's how it starts ...

“Each time you think about relaxing, it becomes a little easier … your body starts of react sooner, to open, to sense the quiet, the stillness … your mind starts to let go of the thoughts, and move to the present moment …”

It goes on to connect you with your breath and then to release tension and stress throughout the body piece by piece.

Have you heard something like this next part before?

"Now let you face soften, your mouth, your eyes ... let your whole body soften as if it were melting in a spring thaw - gently, slowly, with the intention of renewal ..."

As I was writing this, I was melting too.
Did you feel it ?

I'll end with this last message which sends you off into your Meditation

"In this stillness you can find peace,
you can hear your inner voice whisper,
peace be still ..."

Bette Midler ~ The Rose ~ BEST DUET ~ With Ms. Judd!! Beautiful! ♥♥♥♥♥

The Rose

Bette Midler and Ms Judd

It couldn't get any better!

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

A Beautiful Song.  A Beautiful Duet.

Enjoy and stay till the end for a moment of fun!

Here's the words.

"The Rose"
written by Amanda McBroom

Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
An endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
And you its only seed.

It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance.
It's the dream afraid of waking
That never takes the chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
Who cannot seem to give,
And the soul afraid of dyin'
That never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose.

One Rose Wellness Message

A Moment to Listen

from Simply, One Breath At a Time

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

I picked this One Rose message to share with you today.

"Ignore any distractions
around you and listen to the
sound of your breath ..."

Thank You for sharing these messages to help others!

Distractions are everywhere.  It is so easy to get caught up in what surrounds us and if that isn't enough we seem to easily get caught up in others lives, activities, problems, worries, business.

Then there's all the news, social media, deadlines, rushing etc etc.

How often do you just let it all go and sit in silence.  It can be hard to find a place that is still and silent but you can do it anywhere just by focusing inward and listening to your breath. Focus on You and Breathe in ... Breathe out .... listen ... feel ...

Try it for several minutes and if it doesn't work this time, try it again later.  Although this seems so simple, it can take some practice.

It is a wonderful way to let go of stress and calm your body and mind.

A FREE wellness tool to help you relax!

You can easily FIND many places where you have a couple of minutes.

Here's a few - commercials, bathroom, waiting, line ups, on hold, break time, riding the bus

Meaning of Words - Sign

So many variations of one word!

Sign

What's the first thing you think of?

The word sign is one of those words that has many different uses.

We have a road sign, a Sign Language, a Horoscope sign.

We use it as an identifier like a signature, an indicator like a symptom, or a signal like a wave.

A sign can give us written, picture or symbol information & instructions, tell us about hazards, shopping, businesses, locations etc, or it can be visual like noticing a change in weather.

I thought I'd share this sign that tells us to expect deer on the roads. We have lots of deer around and usually when you see one, there's a couple more coming.

Do you have any unusual signs or ones unique to where you live that you can tell us about in the comments?     Or maybe you saw one somewhere else.

We can share in the Comments, Signs from around the world!

It can be a SIGN of our Connecting!

Treasures of Springtime!

Dona Anderson

  Gifts to Celebrate!

Are You Ready?

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

It's becoming a tradition to share another version of  an old spring meditation each year.

Spring time on Vancouver Island Canada, is a gradual rebirth of all that is beautiful. It starts in February and goes to June!

I've temporarily let go of Fall being my all time favorite season because of where we live. Spring is taking over the lead or I guess I can have them BOTH!.  Not too hot & not too cold, and both offers us lots of interest, colors, and change.

One comes from winter and the other leads into it.

One starts to fill in the open spaces and the other again opens up the spaces.

Meditation, 8 Treasures of Spring

Find a comfortable place and over the next few minutes connect with your breath. Soften your eyes and ears ... soften your face ... soften your shoulders ... feel yourself letting go of any tension and stress you may be holding, gently breathe and let it all go ...

Start to let go of old thoughts so you can replace them with the many Treasures of Spring.

As thoughts and stresses leave your body, feel spaces opening up for your breath to move gently and freely ... bring awareness to this healing breath and to feelings of rejuvenation ... bring awareness to new beginnings, a new season of growth, change and rewards ...

Feel your body, mind, and breath now all opening and inviting Spring in ...

This spring, smile as you wake up to the sun rises filling your home with soft morning light.

Dona Anderson
As new flowers begin to bloom, absorb all their beauty, colors, and soothing fragrances.

Listen to the birds joyful songs of celebration as they return to begin again.

Embrace the blossoms of the trees as their gifts to you and the world.

Feel the freshness of soft drops of warm rain on your face.

Notice the ongoing changes as gifts that connect you to new present moments.

Breathe in and let gratitude fill your whole body with inner peace.

And, this spring instead of old thoughts and stresses, invite in simplicity, ease, calm and freshness.

Smile. Absorb. Listen, Embrace. Feel.
Notice. Breathe. Invite.

Now, close our eyes and simply rest for a few more minutes ...

Namaste.

I hope you Enjoyed these Treasures of Spring!
