Blog Name has Changed!

Invest in Yourself

Dona Anderson

Success is liking Yourself
liking what you Do
and liking how you do it!`
~ Maya Angelou~

Dona Anderson

Change happens everywhere and
Now it's happening here!

Roots to Breath has been retired as my Blog's name and Dona Anderson has taken over, so I won't need to change again in the future.

Sorry for any inconvenience when you look at old posts especially with links to others blog posts. I will work on updating them as I'm able and all posts are still here so don't fret.  You can look for them in the Blog archive by date or try the labels. Email followers, if you still have the email, the post should be the day of or the day before the email.

Because my Blog is evolving and a new book will soon be published, I wanted to make it easier to find me and build my audience.  As I learn more and figure out how to make changes I'm slowly updating things and the Blogs name was a major one and will be more work than I imagined.

I forgot about all the links in posts and then all the paper material that needs to be changed. And then there's the links I've sent out to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.  When you're in the spirit of change and finally just go for it, somehow all that stuff is forgotten.

I will still refer to Roots to Breath in various places as it connects me to a place for grounding, evolving and breathing, a place for moving through the Chakras.  I've been using it for some of the One Rose Wellness Card posts and I like it as a title for the images on the right side.

I really appreciate all your support and hope you stay connected!

Isn't that a cutie in the picture!

What Did You lose Today?

What did you lose today or was it yesterday?

What was it?

Maybe, it was being grateful.

Maybe, it was balance.

Or, was it yourself and the smile that lights up your face?

Begin to see yourself in the beautiful park in this photo.
The bench is for You to sit down on and rest.
Now, let these words fill your body as you say ...

“I invite my next breaths to bring me to place to smile …
a place to breathe and be present …
a place where I won’t lose myself …
a place to notice beauty in things …
a place to find joy …”

So Much More to See

Special Treat for You!

Preview!

Dona Anderson

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

The meditation I'm sharing below So Much More to See is one of 73 and starts off my upcoming book titled Moving Forward from the Heart.

It introduces you to what you'll find in the book and I hope it peeks your interest to want to know more about guided Relaxation and Meditation.

So Much More to See

Whether your meditation practice is just getting started or it is an ongoing regular practice, it is there for you to simply breathe, nourish and restore.

Meditation is a special time for you to soften and release stress, move out old thoughts that clutter your mind, and to then use the space that remains for mindful presence.

Meditation connects you to your body for healing, rejuvenation and to create balance. It opens the mind up to learning and understanding, to listening and dreaming, to reducing and eliminating.

As your body and mind both begin to open up to the benefits of guided relaxation and meditation in your life, you will feel yourself gently moving to a familiar place where you are alert, present, and where you know what it is you need to let go of or take away.

As you bring your practice to life, notice your body and mind getting more comfortable. Your body lets go of tension and stress a little more with each new breath, and your mind begins to open up the part of you that observes and discovers …

Softly close your eyes,

there is still so much more to see …

~ Enjoy a period of relaxing Meditation ~

Mindfulness in Schools!

I wish we had this when I went to School!

Learning this early in life will have huge overall benefits later in life!

Roots to Breath, Dona Anderson

Are your children or grandchildren benefiting from this wonderful program?

Dona Anderson
I wanted to make a combo post for you of earlier posts I shared about new programs being introduced into the schools to help the children with social and emotional learning.

It also incorporates relaxation techniques for breath awareness, focusing and mindfulness to help the students reduce stress, be happier and overall healthier.

First start off with this Ted Talk with Goldie Hawn and Dan Siegel

Second is another video from the Hawn Foundation Mind Up Program

Third is a PDF article adding in more information from a study done about the program.

Help Spread the Word!

This WILL Change Lives!

There's lots of info on Meditation and Relaxation Techniques
on this Blog but I picked this earlier post about Stress for you
as it also has a link with even more info.

One Rose Wellness Message

A Moment for new Beginnings

from Simply, One Breath At a Time

Dona Anderson

I picked this One Rose message to share with you today as I've been missing all the Heart connections we did in February.

"Every breath, every heartbeat,
is a beginning to the rest
of your life ..."

Thank You for sharing these messages to help others!

Welcome each new breath, each new heartbeat.

This message seems so small yet had a huge meaning for one lady I met who told me how true it was because she had had a heart attack. That next breath, next heartbeat, meant Life.

As  you begin your next inhale feel the lungs fill up and then release, and think about your heart receiving a little massage with each breath.

I like to imagine it as a little Hug to say Thank You!

An Update on my Progress to Unplug More!

How's it Going so far, You Ask?

Very Good, I reply!

In case you missed it,
here's the earlier post about Unplugging

My First few Months!

Happiness makes itself available to you when you make yourself available to it.
~Robert Holden~

Doesn't the Quote above really hit the mark ... what I need, I do have to give to myself.

Dona Anderson
So, I needed to start tracking the things I wanted to add into my activities that I felt I was missing so I started using an extra calendar we had.

Reason being - I forget!

Tracking helps me stay committed. A few years ago when we were travelling more I got off my walking routine so I stopped tracking and then my walking slowly decreased more and more.   I guess I use the calendar as a witness so I can look at it and say Yes, I am doing or trying to do more of what I hoped for.

Sounds like what I used to say about having to make
a plan or things never seem to happen.

It works good to be able to see at a glance what I am doing each week and month that was on my need to continue and Do More of List - the things that when I look back I know they are what I wanted to do. And, at the end of the month I give myself a big Happy Face even if I could have done better.

Why? Because life gets busy and some days you just do the best you can!

Are some things missing from your life that you'd like to get back or start?

I'll update you again later. I do have some very special things coming up!

I hope you are still enjoying the Treasures of Spring Meditation posted in March and all the Heart Awareness posts from February.  If you haven't seen them, have a look!

 Bye for Now!
