What do you get with Wishes & Stars

When You Wish Upon A Star

Wishes and Stars together

sung by Jiminy Cricket (Cliff Edwards)

Always a Family Favorite.

I feel like I'm back watching the black & white
TV and it's Sunday ...

Time for a singalong and some star grazing.

This song takes us back to a very different time in our lives, and the world.

I enjoyed it thinking that Santa lists are getting ready and later looking up towards the stars for his sleigh.

We didn't get a TV until the early 1960's and Sundays were usually spent around the house and then our Sunday supper.

It's the early 1960's when if the family was not at the kitchen or dining room table we were in the living room in front of the TV on a Sunday night for a our couple of weekly shows.

Walt Disney and Ed Sullivan. - times were starting to change. We would never have believed how much.

No video or recordings back then so we had to watch it when aired.

We had the TV tables out and ready for that first note of the music.

It was fun to run out to the kitchen to get our supper, 2nd helpings, or dessert during the commercials.

A little freedom from the rest of the week at the supper table..
Simple quiet times.
PS. it was a time of aprons, pies cooling outside on the porch, lots of dishes to wash and hopefully leftovers for the next few days.

Later on it was a time when the boy friends came to Sunday Supper. I guess to see what us girls might cook later and to see if they really wanted to hang around.

I always wondered what their Mothers thought.  Was she alone -  hopefully not and she had someone to eat with.

It was a time when Mom kind of catered to them - I wonder now if she was hoping to marry us off.

Not too soon - we were all 4 years apart so it would take a while.

When it came my turn, my future hubby always helped out. He liked to be the one washing the dishes, and still is.

PSS. Not long after the Beetles, others came and so many shows changed.

Thanks to Ed Sullivan for so much during those years.

He opened the World up!

When You Wish Upon A Star - sung by Jiminy Cricket (Cliff Edwards)

I'm sure we've all wished upon a Star as children or even later in life.

Wishing on Stars is something like wishing
as you blow out the Birthday candles...

But we get Birthday candles only once a year!
We can look up to the stars almost every night (weather permitting)

I thought this song would be a good one to add into this years selections.

We all need some wishes and dreams
to come true ...

Do you have 2, 3 or more wish lists?

There's the if I win the lottery big one list

The when I get a good job, or finally retirement

Have my dream home or car

Get married

Pay the bills off

and on ...

Dreams like wish lists are wonderful for taking us through life's different adventures.

What are the Dreams you want to come True?

Our 3rd Summer of Music continues next week.

Visit previous selections in the archives and you can go back to July & August posts for 2017 & 2018.

Thanks for your visit & Take Care
and I'm wishing for your Dreams to come True!

A new Year to Celebrate and Enjoy.

I don't know about You but my days go by fast, then the years fly by and the quicker I get older.

So I want to help us all enjoy the time in our life more.

When writing these weekly posts I think even more now about who the readers are, where you live in this beautiful world and how you may be living your life.

How do you celebrate and enjoy the world
around you?

This blog started in September 2010 when I had the plan to send 100 copies of my book Simply, One Breath At a Time off on a journey to travel around the world or in hopes that they would at least.

Here's some information if you'd like to read more.

Since then I've published over 500 posts and I'm thrilled to have had thousands of visitors from all over the World. See the list below of visitors this past week.

You are now one of them, and often may be wondering ...

What will
she be
sending out
next week

The posts are about Relaxation, Meditation, Self care, Awareness and I also like to add in a bit about my personal Journeys, Stories, Ted Talks, photo's, videos and entertainment to change the pace and keep you wondering what will she be sending out next week.

Our lives are determined by the choices we make and mine is to continue to inspire, entertain and help you and I find a variety of easy ways to connect with a self care and everyday wellness.

It's all done out of love and gratitude for all of us trying to just do the best we can and making the best contribution to the world that we can.

Please keep passing on those beautiful
Smiles of yours!

Love to hear from You!

Share something about your life and wellness in the comments below.

My photo card to You & best wishes for the festivities you Celebrate

There are many Festivals & Holidays

 in December around the World.

Best wishes to you for whatever ones you celebrate.

Dona Anderson

For mine we usually say, Merry Christmas.

This time of year is full of thoughts about connecting and celebrating with family and friends.

And I can't forget the feasts of wonderful food, desserts and often some gift giving.

This post reaches out to also thank everyone for their kindness towards others at this time of year.

There are many ways to assist others you know or don't know that may need a little help, time, goodwill, a visit or even just a friendly smile.

I found this Charlie Brown Christmas wish to share with you.

Dear Santa,

I already have everything I could possibly wish for this year.

Got my family, good friends and Love.

Please take care of those who need you.

                            Thank You.

Another quote I found was ... in a World where you can be anything, be Kind.

Let's all have a little bit of Santa in us.

Next weeks post will be on Christmas Day and  it's our last for 2018.

See you back here then.

Please Remember at this busy time of year to look after yourself, ask for help when you need it and BREATHE!

Thanks for your visit.

I never thought of this before but if
we Ho Ho Ho and Smile like Santa
we get to do some Face Yoga!!

What did you spend your Golf money on?

I tried to Golf a couple of times.

Unfortunately or Fortunately, I didn't have much success...

But in hind sight it was not to be my thing,
so I spent the money anyway - on other things.

I enjoy seeing what others are doing in their hobbies, outings, travels so it's always fun to find out new things or places to go.

When I started Yoga I got interested in music and joined a community choir for a few years, then I started to learn drumming, energy work, started writing and on and on.

Funny how you can't just have one drum, singing bowl, Himalayan salt lamp, basket of rocks and so on.

Now I'm playing guitar with a group of seniors and so far am lucky with only 2 guitars and 1 ukulele.

I'm not getting great at playing yet but what is great is that it's a place to go where others know your name and are glad to see you.

I guess that's what all our hobbies, outings and travels are about.

It's the getting out and spending time with others, having fun, not being lonely for a few hours, learning, helping others, being active or whatever else your activities bring you.

As we start the fall season of getting back to regular life after our summer break I hope we let our minds be our opener to possibilities rather than a limiter.

Life has so much happiness, wonder and gifts to offer us.

You'll be amazed at what you can find if you just

Go For It.

Update - from when I first started to write this, so Ok the guitar number went from 2 up to 3 - I guess we shouldn't visit the music shops anymore.

Is there something you're going to learn or be doing again soon?

Links below for sharing.

Thank You for your visit.

Love to hear what you do for Fun!!!!!!!

And what I don't understand is that they say Seniors don't spend money?

New posts are every Tuesday, and visit the archives for lots more.
