I've been playing with this when I have time.

There's a bit more I want to do and always some tweaking but I thought I'd share with you what I have so far!

No wonder my old brain gets tired ...

THIS wasn't Planned

I have to add in here that the website cover photo and the cover for Moving Forward from the Heart have the same colors.

I started work on the website in the spring and then had the book cover designed for me in June,  and until recently I didn't notice the similarities.

Hope this is a good sign for both the book and the website!

You'll see what I mean when you have a look at both on the home page!

Have you felt LOST?

I wrote the following poem, Lost and Found, shortly after I published my first book, Simply, One Breath At a Time.

I needed to write something about what the 65 guided relaxations/meditations in this book meant to me - what I saw, thought, felt, experienced and most of all, what I found in its pages.

After reading each of the relaxations in the book many times through its creation and in using it since, I am still very grateful for all the things they continue to bring to my life.

I hear whispers for change, growth and I am reminded about all the wonders of life that are found in the breath, nature, treasures, gratitude, stillness and so much more.  Namaste.

Lost and Found

by Dona Anderson

Lost myself
Found out what’s important and brings me joy

Lost track of time
Found the now in the present moment

Lost imagination
Found treasures, gifts, paradise, nature

Lost comfort
Found softness from letting go, and smiling

Lost paying attention
Found myself choosing to be aware

 Lost appreciation
Found feelings of fullness from gratitude

 Lost awareness
Found time to see, hear, feel, and connect

Lost my breath
Found a nourishing breath flowing within me

Lost a quiet mind
Found that I can slow down thoughts and rest

Lost peace
Found a safe place for me to open up my heart.

Surviving Change

Strength, Beauty, Power

Finding Your Place to Pause ...

Dona Anderson

Last year I shared the post Standing Tall in your Mountain, which refers to the Yoga pose Tadasana, Mountain Pose.

Now, life is urging me to again bring it up but in a different way.

This post is about the people that are dealing with health issues and other huge life changes.  Those who are dealing with sadness, loss and loneliness. Those who are dealing with change and uncertainties.

That not fun part of LIFE.

In Yoga, Mountain pose is a place we return to between other yoga poses. It's a resting place that brings us back to our breath and to feelings of awareness and confidence.

It's a pose to sit or stand tall and be proud, and where we can pause and feel balanced, grounded, strong and alert.

It's a place to open and connect the mind, body and breath
to feel the aliveness inside ourselves.

As we go through those difficult times or seasons in our lives, let us be aware of those pauses in between things that will help us find the gifts of balance, rest and peace.

Let us know that We Will slowly move forward, and

that it's OK to have those days when we need a little extra help.

And when we can, We Will again proudly stand tall and shine with all our strength, beauty and power.

Namaste.

Water Lily

Each day is an opportunity to see what's there!

Dona Anderson

I love checking the pond to see the water lilies opening and closing. They remind me not only to enjoy their beauty but to connect to natures cycles and power.

How do these things work, how does this flower know to open in the morning and close later in the day?

Here's a little excerpt from a meditation for the Crown Chakra titled Sahasrara in my new book,
Moving Forward from the Heart.
Dona Anderson

"Place this lotus flower in your mind and watch it begin to emerge from the muddy water to blossom and become all that it can be while not even knowing its own true beauty … later in the day it closes and sleeps until the next day when it is again awakened by the light of the sun.

Each time the flower reopens, it invites you to breathe in its beauty, purity, hope and grace … as you watch and know that it is in harmony with its roots, you begin to see how this flower has been symbolic since ancient times, and how it comes to let us know that if we are in balance, rooted in something that holds and sustains us, that we too can emerge and blossom out into the world."

Repeat the mantra Om... several times to let the vibrations fill your body and mind.

I know you are blossoming out to the
World right now!

Take Care!

The Wild Within: British Columbia, Canada

British Columbia,Canada

Come!  See!

Dona Anderson

I thought I'd share this video about where I live.

In May we did the beautiful drive from our island home to Edmonton Alberta. We went and came back through different mountains seeing so much beauty.

We even got to see a bear, some elk, goats, and deer.  Getting out in nature and breathing that fresh air while still seeing snow on the mountain tops, and the rushing streams  is so wonderful!

Here is another link to a video I shared last year. It's really good and I hope you enjoy both.

Take care and have wonderful day!

Because I grew up a prairie girl and moved several times over the years,  I know we all have our own ideas of beauty for where we Live.

What are some of yours?

Bring them to mind and listen to them softly speaking to YOU.

Warm & Fuzzy Feeling

Remember that feeling!

Wellness Moment

Did you have one or more of those special places growing up where you hid your treasures or yourself away from everyone?

Do you remember how you felt?

As we grow up sometimes we lose those places but what if we could find it in ourselves, we'd be able to take it everywhere with us.

You know that feeling you get when it feels OK to soften and let go.
You know you’re in a safe and secure place.

One line in the relaxation Welcome Home on page 22 in Simply, One Breath At a Time offers you this message ...

“Create a feeling of comfort or of coming home … a feeling of being welcomed after a long journey…”

Want that feeling?

Get to know your body. Let go of stress as you breathe and begin to move in awareness so it feels familiar.

Create that space where you feel welcomed each time you take a moment to relax and notice your breath.

Can you feel the change already?
